(CNN)Lawyers for CNN and the Trump administration are awaiting an initial ruling on the network's federal lawsuit over press access to the White House.
And they're going to have to wait a little while longer. Judge Timothy J. Kelly heard nearly two hours of oral arguments about CNN's request for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction on Wednesday. Then he said court would reconvene Thursday at 3 p.m.
But on Thursday afternoon, he rescheduled the next hearing for Friday at 10 a.m.

What sane judge would override the expertise of the Secret Service and order that White House access credentials be issued to anyone?
He is a Trump-appointed judge, so hopefully he is sane...

I suggest dont even fight it and give Acosta the Helen Thomas treatment at all future press conferences. See how long it takes before CNN gets the hint that their reporter is never going to get to ask a question again at one unless they replace him with one who knows how to behave. The "Helen Thomas treatment" was that the press corps always gave her the honor of asking the first question.
Am I missing something in your statement?

In all seriousness what concerns me is that a pro-CNN court ruling that stands will create an “official” media.
CNN, CBS, Fox News, all will be entitled to access.
Local papers, scores of bloggers, Sharyl Attkisson, not so much.
An elite tier of officially entitled media to the exclusion of all others is something this country does NOT need!

If he were an honest judge, he would have kicked the case out as frivolous.

Or he may be using the time to run the clock and add up big legal fees for CNN...to be paid to a charity of President Donald J. Trump's choosing.

A Democrat would easily be able to eliminate any reporter that asks tough questions.

Do you know what is most important to this judge? Rendering an opinion that will be affirmed. If he needs more time to make sure he covers all the bases, he should take it. Nothing is going on now anyway.

Obozo didn’t even have press conferences so press passes were unnecessary.

That would then become the shortest press conference in history.

I dont get this whole Acosta thing. Freedom of the Press means reporters can say what they want (within limits) without fear of prosecution. It has nothing to do with providing them access of any sort. That's why they've tacked on the "due process" claim. Meaning, that once he had a pass, there had to be some documented process to remove it, where he had a chance to protest and defend his right to not be deprived of "his property", namely that press pass.
