Will Trump Be the Last Republican President ?
American Thinker ^ | 11/12/18 | Brian C Joondeph

I believe that Donald Trump will be the last Republican president many of us will ever see in our lifetimes. We hope that he will serve two terms, but even that is not a given, despite his popularity both personally and of his MAGA agenda. I’ll call it the three D’s, in honor of Trump’s first name Donald – demeanor, demographics, and deception. (snip)...In other words, Trump is a one-off, an exception. Unlike Obama, Trump is the one we have been waiting for, after a string of wet noodles named Bush, Romney, McCain, and Ryan to name a few. But the Republican bench is thin. Who is the heir apparent? I don’t see anyone with the charisma, fire in the belly, energy, and commitment to conservative principles and values.

Before Trump, the previous five GOP presidential nominees were:

Mitt Romney
John McCain
George W. Bush
Bob Dole
George H. W. Bush

Demographics isn't the problem here. This is a rogues gallery of misfits, losers and assholes.

Of course no one can predict the future,you just make your best judgment based on the trends currently visible.

But, maybe you’re right and there’s nothing left BUT hard core leftists on the other side.

Sure seems to me most of the moderate dems have either quit the dem party or died of old age. The ones who quit aren't likely to vote republican methinks. I bet they just sit it out.

Seventy years of K-College brainwashing and indoctrination plus communist Hollywood influence on TV shows and movies plus the constant drone of extreme far left activists posing as MSM/CNN/MSNBC journalists have taken their toll as well.

Americans have faced worst odds and remember Pravious; only 3% of the American population fought against the red coats to win our freedom from the British. I like to think at least 3% of us still have balls bigger than BB's to fight and win against the brain damaged left. We still hold the moral high ground and will continue to.

I think I speak not just for myself but if the left tries to take away our rights and freedoms; people like me will have nothing to lose so we will fight. Many of us will die but dying to protect what is most important in this life is worth dying for. Of course the goal will be to make the bad guys die first.

Also, all internet/social media becoming completely censored. At least in last election we could get the word out past the MSM. But they quickly realized their mistake and tightened up those escape routes thru the cyber Berlin wall.

The first Republican president to be elected and reelected to the Presidency in his own right, and to serve out both complete terms, was U.S. Grant.

The next one was Dwight Eisenhower.

The next one was Ronald Reagan.

Then the second George Bush.

During the interval from 1861 (inauguration of President Abraham Lincoln) to 2018, the US has had 18 Republican presdients. I'm not sure we've ever had any President as tough as the one we have now.

I wasn't being a picker of nits...I just believe in posting the facts accurately. :-)

And yes, things "change"; they always have done.

Some things are immutable; however, politics/who gets elected president isn't one of them...not yet, anyway.

This stupid thread and the downer posts to it, should be deleted.

Instead of wringing of hands and whinging, it should fire us all up to fight and fight HARD!

It has NOT been 70 years; no need to exaggerate!

When I was in school ( grammar through grad school ) not a single teacher I had, EVER pushed anything but FACTS and the subjects they taught; nary a one of them! And I went to grammar schools in NYC, boarding school in Pa., college in New England, and grad school in NYC! And believe me, even as a little kiddo, I would have picked up on any "brainwashing"!

Trump is a temporary reprieve from God’s judgement.
==============

Nonsense. Trump is a temporary reprieve from nutless fools who refused to burden themselves with the facts 25 years ago.

FOOLS!

“Millennials are a lost cause, but the generation after them, are very Conservative.”

I’m not sure about that. Champaign County, Illinois for the last 70 years or so has had mostly Republicans as County clerks, sheriffs, most county offices. This year we made it very easy for the U of I students to vote in the local elections. The democrats recognized this and told them to vote for them to thumb their noses at Trump. At least 10,000 did that and swamped the natives. All of the offices went democrat with equal numbers. Typical previous student participation was maybe 1-2 thousand. I would have to do some research to get accurate numbers, but you can get the idea.

They haven’t shown that to be the case. I know many 30 something millennials with homes, kids and good jobs who are still solid liberals.

Either Republicans learn to cheat more efficiently and clandestinely - and more aggressively - than Democrats, or it’s over for the U.S. Although depressing to say, cheating is the new normal - and both political parties know it. The bureaucrats tolerate it. The press tacitly promotes. Congress tut-tuts it, but does nothing to stop it.

Honest conservatives meanwhile have continued to put faith in the electoral process, which is hopelessly corrupted. If we want to regain influence, we must learn to double-down and become expert at stealing elections from Dems.

We have to cheat to win, in order to prevent cheating from remaining the norm. I know it sounds odd, but it is like holistic medicine: You must first embrace the ailment, if you hope to treat it.

You said "30 somethings", which would encompass the 30 - 39 age group, part of whom are GEN Xers! As a matter of factg, most of that age group ARE Gen-Xers! :-)

There are exceptions to every rule and I DO know quite a few Millennials who aren't anything at all like the majority of their generation...they are married, have at least one child, own their own homes, have good jobs, and are Conservatives. But sadly, they are the EXCEPTION and not anywhere even remotely close to the majority of that generation.

=============

This is not a problem for Republicans. You're assuming that anyone who has a felony conviction is automatically a Dem. Not true.

Also those who were convicted in a state other than FL have never lost their ability to vote in FL.

R’s can say Bye Bye Florida.
=============

Agreed, but because of changed demographics, not the boogieman of "felons".

According to PRAGER U...

64% of young people under the age of 24 supported liberal candidates and

The pro-socialist candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez won with over 78% of the vote. 78% voted to support radical policies: free college, universal job guarantee; medicare for all.

Young American have been indoctrinated by the left in schools, universities, and n the media. This is what the future of America will look like if we don’t do something about it...

It’s over. I know I’m done.

Trump was our last best hope but he can’t hold off the inevitable retaking of our country by the State. And a majority of our fellow citizens are all for it.

I’m tuning out and giving up on hope frankly. Just gonna live out my life without this bullshit
