New York City is the still the greatest city in the world, despite it’s politics.
But NYC is Democratic-run.
The only conservatives that can make NYC competitive is someone with $$$$$ and the message.
They are conservative neighborhoods of NYC.

Own the cities and you own the state.

Five cities can control the popular vote in the US.

The problem is there are more democRATS in NYC than there are people in all of the rest of the state. Add in the cities Albany, Syracuse Rochester and Buffalo and they are bulletproof.
As it stands now my 2A rights are gonna go away followed by my 1A rights. Soon I will be in the gulag for being a conservative and for teaching my kids incorrect ideas.

Same with NV with Las Vegas and Reno. Plus the dems, if they win a contested seat in Vegas will control the senate, the state house, gov and lt gov, ag. Ergo, Calvada.

Trying to reconcile the title “Andrew Cuomo Is Still Governor...But He Only Won How Many Counties North of NYC?” with Cuomo winning cities of Albany, Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo.
I love Western NY, the Finger Lakes region, the Southern Tier, Adirondacks, etc. always will. But its hard to understand how NYS will go from Blue to Purple anytime soon.
Who is the Trump-like person that can make everything north of NYC vote correctly?

They only find boxes of ballots in the close elections, never in the blow-outs. Weird.

Land mass doesn't vote, people vote. All the populated counties in NY went to Cuomo, sad to say. Until the GOP stops trying to be Democrat lite (and nearly as corrupt as the Dems), nothing will change in this state.

Worth noting that Tompkins is one of only four upstate counties to go blue in both of the last two gubernatorial elections, with the other three being anchored by Albany, Syracuse, and Buffalo.
Even Monroe, home of Rochester, didn’t go blue in both.
What can one say but . . .

Yes, lived in this state most of my life, but I'm at the point where I am giving serious thought to moving to a red (or at least purple) state with a better economy. NY is controlled by the Albany/NYC corridor, and the pols (and some of the voters, apparently) are ridiculously corrupt. This state will not turn away from the Democrats in my lifetime, so no point in wasting my votes on a party that doesn't seem to care one iota about competing here.

He only gets votes where people actually live.

He only gets votes where people actually live. I wouldn't go so far as calling them people.

Out of curiosity and as potential discussion points for my anti-Electoral College (EC) acquaintances, how many visits & how many days did his Cuomoness spend in the non-vote rich counties? Do away with the EC and watch the Presidential Campaigns concentrate on the top 5 voting states. None will be big on agricultural issues because the votes are in the urban areas.
Bye-the-by, isn’t Cuomo anti Electoral College?
