Why Did Facebook Fire a Top Executive? Hint: It Had Something to Do With Trump
Wall Street Journal ^ | 11/11/18 | Kirsten Grind and Keach Hagey

Facebook Inc. executive and virtual-reality wunderkind Palmer Luckey was a rising star of Silicon Valley when, at the height of the 2016 presidential contest, he donated $10,000 to an anti-Hillary Clinton group.

His donation sparked a backlash from his colleagues. Six months later, he was out. Neither Facebook nor Mr. Luckey has ever said why he left the social-media giant. When testifying before Congress about data privacy earlier this year, Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg denied the departure had anything to do with politics.

Mr. Luckey, it turns out, was put on leave, then fired, according to people familiar with the matter. More recently, he has told people the reason was his support for Donald Trump and the furor that his political beliefs sparked within Facebook and Silicon Valley, some of those people say.

Just in case any of you still think that Big Tech is neutral, here is yet again another data point to the contrary.

It’s going to cost them when anti-trust action gets warmed up against them.

In hte case of Facebook and Google, I am in support of a government break up of their powerful monopolies along the lines of what was done to Ma Bell in the 70s.

What they have both shown is their clear intention to take our country to a place where thought and speech can be controlled and freedom curtailed. All we know about their activities is what they let us know. We really have no idea what kind of plans they are cooking up in their secretive boardrooms.

There is no BLACKLIST in high tech, just ask them! Remember the cofounder of Mozilla, Brendan Eich, was forced out because he contributed to the pro California Marriage Amendment advocates? Remember the software engineer at Google, James Damore, who was fired after an internal memo about ‘diversity’ was leaked? Can we say that the industry is NOTORIOUS and INFAMOUS for being LEFTist?

So, did Zuckerberg perjure himself before Congress?

Remember when that used to be a crime?

Well, it still is for the political Right, but Leftists and/or democrat party administration officials, not anymore!

He has since founded Anduril, an Orange County-based tech company focused on using artificial intelligence to protect troops, performing search-and-rescue missions and bringing “Silicon Valley thinking and funding to defense,” according to its website.

Interestingly the HQ and all advertised jobs are on site in Orange County, CA.

The Bell System was broken up in the 80s. Although there was a “paper” split in 83, the first day of the post-Ma Bell world was 1/1/84

Tech genius and Oculus co-founder, Palmer Luckey, came under intense pressure from Facebook's upper echelon after it emerged he had donated $10,000 to an anti-Hillary Clinton group in 2016. Correspondence revealed by the WSJ, sparked a furor which triggered Palmer's firing six months later. "Tolerant and compassionate" Zuckerberg and others attempted to pressgang Luckey into publicly supporting libertarian Gary Johnson.

Facebook paid him $100 million to leave.
Its interesting how such a thing could be so important to Zuckerberg. This is not just some personal feelings-based issue. They were afraid of this guy.

BTTT.

This is a BFD, as Joey Biden would say.

Worth reading the whole thing.

I am essentially un-hirable in the tech industry anymore because I am a public conservative.
