Sunday on CBSs Face the Nation, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said under no circumstances should the so-called migrant caravan be allowed to cross into the United States.
Partial transcript as follows:
BRENNAN: You were very critical of the Obama administration for taking action via executive fiat as you said, you called it dangerous. This week President Trump on immigration has issued orders bypassing Congress to restrict how migrants crossing the border illegally can claim asylum. Are you OK with that now?
CRUZ: Well Im still studying this specific immigration order, but Ill tell you look, heres my view on executive orders
BRENNAN: But bypassing Congress?
CRUZ: Well let- let me explain my view on- on executive orders whether from Trump or Obama, George W. Bush or anybody else, which is there is a legitimate role for an executive order, and that is governing how the Executive Branch operates. How under Article II of the Constitution the president of the Executive Branch is charged with- with taking- taking due care that the laws are faithfully executed. And an executive order is perfectly appropriate to direct the Executive Branch. This is the manner in which we shall execute the law. What Obama did repeatedly that was so lawless is his executive orders didnt do that. Instead, they said here is the federal law passed by Congress signed by the president that we will defy, that we will ignore, and- and that the president cant do. And- and so thats the question on any executive order is-is it- is it directing how the executive will behave or is it flying in defiance to- to laws passed by Congress. If its the latter, its unconstitutional.

Might as well at this point...
I have to say I understand their wish to form a Caravan to get away from where they were. I just wish there was a country we could go to to get away from them.
Ted Cruz...
YOU DA MAN!
Good on ya', sir!

“Cruz: Under No Circumstances Should We Let Migrant Caravan into America”
Well DUH! It’s NOT a “migrant caravan”, IT’S An INVASION by foreigners intent upon turning our country into a Third World Socialist sewer, and handing it over to they whom are the enemy within.
NO! “UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES”.
How many aliens and birthright illegals are Margaret Brennan and Yado Yakub going to house?
Cruz is a good Senator.
Whether or not these CRIMINAL ALIENS get into our precious country is just the tip of the iceberg. The troublesome part, to me, is all the freeloading (read $$$ from your pocket) that will take place once they are here.
Senator Cruz is right, we must never let these people into our country. Doing so sets a bad example and others will try. It could become a never ending problem. Much better to nip it in the bud now.

I don’t!
They are exactly what is wrong with their country!
Beggars, not contributors!
I just wish there was a country we could go to to get away from them.

One of a handful that side with the citizens and the rule of law.
The Bush League Republicans who side with the illegal aliens far outnumber the good ones.
It is an invading army. These military-age men are soldiers, 10,000 strong now, 100,000 strong shortly, sent to aid the cheating democrats who are so openly cheating. Their cheating would be laughable if it were not so serious. These cheaters realize that there is a real chance that the American people will rise up to stop this usurpation of power, and these treasonous democrats need an army, and it is coming up upon us and they will be here soon. And when they come, we will soon discover, they are here to fight for the democrat cheaters and to conquer our country if they can. Mr. Trump cannot dither, he needs to act and act strongly now!
oh... I thought this was John Brennan interviewing Cruz considering Brennan is a regular on CNN now.
“It is an invading army. These military-age men are soldiers, 10,000 strong now, 100,000 strong shortly,.....”
PLUS ALL the others already here.
He almost let the fake Hispanic unseat him because he barely campaigned.
I agree. Do NOT let one in. But they’ve already been getting in. It’s crickets on the group that was 500 miles from McAllen, TX two weeks ago. A couple days ago a Honduran group was let in. They’re being let in every hour on the hour.
If Trump doesn’t get on the ball and fund ICE and the BP along with new hires for the next decade, the new House will shut down all funding.

I like Cruz. I voted for him over Trump in the primary. I do believe, however, that we’ll see a lot more of this rhetoric from many politicians. Cruz may just be gearing up for another run at the presidency.
When the caravan hordes are on the border and the immigration crap hits the fan, we’ll see who is for real and who is blowing political smoke.
The Dems spent a huge some of money and a lot of effort to stop Cruz. They obviously see him as a formidable opponent.
Cruz just knows why he won the senate seat in a squeaker -50 to 48- that he should have won with the same margin that his fellow incumbent Greg Abbott won the TX governors seat -55 to 42-, seconds after the polls closed
And he can quit calling them a migrant caravan.
He stated in his speech at the convention that he refused to endorse Trump
I refused to endorse Cruz when, in 2015, he backed quintupling the H1B immigration quota
Cruz is just figuring out he needs to get on board. Trump is working for us. Everyone against Trump is against us and that is a losing position. The Dems see the numbers. They know they won the House not only in a blue trickle that they have to cheat around, but that this small victory is after about forty rino anti trump incumbents dropped out. Cruz knows it too.
Cruz knows Texans voted for Gov Abbott in much bigger numbers than they voted for Cruz.
Maybe he’ll look up the meaning of the word caravan. Maybe he’ll figure out Texas is where we need to build a wall
