Kellyanne Conway defends yanking 'grandstanding' Jim Acosta's press pass as she doubles down on White House's claim CNN reporter 'put his hands' on female intern during press conference

CNN correspondent Jim Acosta, a longtime critic of the president, was denied access to the White House on Wednesday night and his pass was confiscated

Acosta's heated press-conference shouting match with Trump had ended with brief physical contact with a female intern who tried to take the microphone

He pulled the mic back and continued asking questions, momentarily pushing the young woman's arm away

Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway cast the moment in #MeToo terms: 'You don’t put your hands on a woman'

She said Thursday morning that the confrontation was a scary male-on-female moment like those that Trump-supporting women often face

Sen. Marco Rubio said the White House shouldn't have revoked Acosta's pass but called him 'an activist, not a journalist'

Kellyanne Conway said Thursday morning that the White House was right to cancel CNN correspondent Jim Acosta's press credentials on Wednesday, casting his tense but momentary physical contact with a White House intern as a male-on-female threat.

Acosta found himself without access to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue following a contentious press conference that included a heated shouting match with Trump and a near-tussle over the White House's microphone as he pushed the intern's arm away.

In a 'Fox & Friends' interview, Conway described it as 'a rough moment for the young aide' and cast Acosta as a chauvinist villain for stopping the young woman from taking the microphone back once President Donald Trump said he was finished answering the reporter's questions.

'The reporter from NBC was already standing, getting ready to ask his question, and she was just doing her job,

That was assault and battery. She needs to file charges and let’s see CNN defend him.

Just like children ... if the little brats in the press are going to play tug-of-war with the microphone, then the WhiteHouse will take away their microphone privileges. It's simple : treat adults like adults and children like children.

To me, I think Kelly Anne is wrong on this. Don’t yank his credentials for putting his hands on the intern. Just tell the truth. We pulled his press credentials for his all around boorish and unprofessional behavior during the President’s Press conference. He can get his credentials back by attending a class given by Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on proper press etiquette during a press conference which can be arranged around both of their busy schedules.

I would definitely consider playing that out, if it were me, just to put the cloud where it belongs over Acosta's head.

The intern looked at the President ‘did you see what that man did to me?”

To me, it looked like "The bad man won't follow the rules, What do I do now?" kind of look.

Thanks for posting that, it;s the 1st time I’ve seen it. He blocked her arm with his to keep her from taking the mic back plain and simple. Also, I believe he has wanted something like this to happen for some time. He goes out of his way to be rude and disrespectful to the POTUS in IMO an obvious attempt at provocation.

The reporters who won’t follow protocol and then act rude, don’t belong there.

Sam Donaldson did one positive thing in his life. He revealed why it’s sometimes necessary to remove a person’s White House Press Pass. Reagan should have yanked his

The President is the top dog and these press folks are there by his permission.

They can ask decent questions to get to the truth. They don’t need to be complete jerks.

He didn’t do anything physical to her really. Sad to see the WH use the MeToo on this. He was being a regular a-hole, not copping a feel. He wold have made that defensive block against anyone.

Are you joking? Acosta should never be allowed a press pass. He is not a journalist, just an idiot posing as one. He is not much better than a member of Antifa and it would not surprise me if he is.

That’s exactly what it was. It’s above her pay grade to, say, “take him down.”

He was a total a hole. But he didn’t assault her, no matter what his name is. He deserves to lose his press pass because he abused it and disrespected the White House. Period. Making it into some kind of male female perv assault is STUPID and demeans victims of sex assault.

He needs to have his pass reinstated for the mens room instead of the news room.

"Are you joking? Acosta should never be allowed a press pass."

Wouldn't you just love it seeing Acosta in an old chair desk combo from school (too small for him as its for a second grader) and having Sara Huckabee Sanders standing in front of a white board with a pointer giving him a class on Press etiquette? When he zones off, she can wrap him with the pointer to bring his attention back...

Aggressive journalists should be required to wear an electric dog collar. When they become aggressive and argumentative, zap them.

I duuno. Have you ever been up close to a secret service agent? I have. I suspect that if one of them said give me the mic he would probably comply.
