Various press organizations have decided to chime on the Trump administration's decision to revoke Jim Acosta's hard press pass on Wednesday night.
The White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) slammed the White House and encouraged them to reinstate Acosta's access in a statement:
The White House Correspondents' Association strongly objects to the Trump Administration's decision to use US Secret Service security credentials as a tool to punish a reporter with whom it has a difficult relationship. Revoking access to the White House complex is a reaction out of line to the purported offense and is unacceptable
Journalists may use a range of approaches to carry out their jobs and the WHCA does not police the tone or frequency of the questions its members ask of powerful senior government officials, including the President. Such interactions, however uncomfortable they may appear to be, help define the strength of our national institutions.
We urge the White House to immediately reverse this weak and misguided action.
We encourage anyone with doubts that this reaction was disproportionate to the perceived offense to the video of the events from earlier today.
The Reporters Committee For Freedom of the Press had a similar sentiment as the WHCA. Here's their press release:
The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, the nations premier defender of the legal rights of journalists, joins the White House Correspondents Association in vehemently objecting to the revocation of a CNN reporters access credentials. Journalists have a right to ask questions and seek answers on behalf of the American people.
This is clearly inappropriate and unprecedented punishment by the Trump administration for what it perceives as unfair coverage by the reporter, and White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders false description of the events leading up to it is insulting not only to the nations journalists, but to its people.
The founders of our country knew there would be tension between our leaders and our journalists. In fact, they designed our system that way, knowing that a free and assertive press is the best defense against tyranny.
We urge the White House to reconsider this overreach of power and to reinstate Jim Acostas credential immediately.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the Trump administration stands by their decision.
He karate chopped her arm, he assaulted her.
They must be afraid of him.
Trump should begin next one by saying any disrespect and you will talk to my little friend.
President Trump ought to really get under their skins: go back to the way the press was handled before Teddy Roosevelt gave them space to do their “job”. Might make them remember there are no laws regarding their treatment by any administration. Wanna ask the President a direct question? Nope, and get the hell out of the White House for trying. Ah, the good ol’ days...
Exactly.
I’m sure the abused female staffer will be strongly supported by #Metoo. Right?

“We urge the White House to immediately reverse this *weak* and misguided action.”
They are complaining the action is too weak?
Being employed by a media company is not a license to ignore the element of acceptable behavior. The reporter in question, as indeed, his claque of supporters, are a fit subject for humor but certainly not credibility!
Just escalate it to see if they’ll quiet down:
Press battery charges against Acosta, and arrest him.
“The White House Correspondents’ Association”
These folks need a union, huh?
Trump needs to come up with a good nickname for The Accoster.
“...why the other reporters allow that to happen...”
Because they just LOVE watching him dis our President.
Yeah, they seem to lack integrity in their support of Acosta. If they are truly paragons of journalistic integrity, when it is their turn they should ask the question Acosta was asking so Trump can't ignore it. Of course they would have to know what his question is, it's kind of difficult to tell...
“What the Sanders should do is perform a statistical analysis and look at trends over the last 2 years of reporters that asked meaningful questions compared to reporters with a liberal narrative and support all anti-Trump efforts. Then shift the reporters with meaningful questions up front and the rest to the back.”
This really wasn’t about the initial question asked. It was about the reporter being a petulant child afterwards.
Kicking out an obnoxious person who attacked an intern is not denying 1st. Amendment rights. If you act like an idiot you’re treated as one. Seems he was trying to deny Trump’s 1st. Amendment rights. (in response to the article).
Its not his coverage that is objectionable, it is his assault on a staff of the WH.

How can a video be doctored? This is ridiculous.
My favorite part of the video was right after this when Acosta would not cease and Trump stepped out from behind the podium and walked toward the front of the stage. Acosta folded like a cheap suit! Bwahahaha! I think he thought the Donald was going to come down and whack him one!
Trump was answering questions for almost 90 minutes.
