If RBG were ever to leave the court for any reason, I would be extremely happy that DJT could pick another justice.

That said, I wish the lady well and hope she recovers from her injury. Getting old sucks, and we need to be compassionate about it. There but fornthe grace of God goes I.

The dems will prop her up in her chair for a couple of weeks after her death, hoping she can make it till Trump’s gone.

My grandmother broke the same ribs as RBG and she lasted 1 month. 95 years old.

She should step down, she is too infirm and frail.

They should have propped her up better. News I read reports other ailments, maybe like not breathing, cold, past rigor. Maybe Trump will get another nomination before the end of the year? And with larger majority and the egg on Democrat faces last time around, maybe the next will go rather smoothly? Okay, wishful thinking.

I don’t wish her any harm, I don’t wish her any pain, I do wish her immediate retirement.

This usually spells the beginning of the end for the elderly...a fall, a pelvic fracture, ribs, whatever, it begins a downward spiral...

Yep. And the ribs could actually have been broken by undetected metastatic cancer.

My dad (perhaps 60 at the time?) fell and hurt himself. My mom got tired of watching him wince all the time and took him to the doctor to get him checked out a couple of days later.

“Yeah - you’ve got two broken ribs. And your right lung is collapsed.”

My dad REALLY didn’t like having to go to the doctor!

Fractured three ribs but went home and after experiencing “discomfort” she went to the hospital for observation?

As long as the ribs are not displaced, that's how it usually is. You feel a pop, a jolt of pain and you are OK for a while. As hours go by and the inflammation builds, you soon realize you are NOT OK. The next 4 weeks to 4 months suck, as you can't even get a decent breath without pain. Coughs and sneezes are intense pain. Sleep is difficult as is almost any normal task. Gotta be really hard for someone her age.

Well at least the libs on the bench are down to 3 votes while conservatives are stuck on 5. Ginsberg is not there to vote against the conservatives. The real payoff is when she is gone one way or the other and conservatives can have some breathing room with 6 on the bench

“Gotta be really hard for someone her age. “

EVERYTHING is hard for someone her age-——I’m a few months older than she is.:-)

Saw last night she is stepping down in Jan 2019 due to cancer.

I saw that too, but have seen no corroboration of that claim.

He was just REALLY cheap I think. He was 6’ tall and 160 pounds, thin as a rail. I never thought he was all that tough until that episode. Looking back - he was mentally tough.

If I had to choose between winning the house on Tuesday and Trump getting to appoint another Justice, I would definitely take the Justice. ------
