Captain Garo Kuredjian: 'There is no threat to the general public' Police say there are "multiple fatalities" after a shooting at a bar in Thousand Oaks, California. Reports say the shooting began at about 23:20 local time on Wednesday at the Borderline Bar and Grill about 40 miles (65km) north-west of Los Angeles.
Officials have confirmed the suspect is now dead, and have said there were at least 11 victims in the attack. At least 200 people were reportedly inside the bar attending a college country music night at the time. "When deputies arrived they heard shots being fired, it was an active shooter situation," Ventura County Sheriff's office spokesman Eric Buschow said. "They entered the location and I can tell you there are multiple fatalities, multiple injuries, among the victims is one of our sheriff's deputies that responded in that initial call, as well as the shooter." Police have said the number of injured is expected to rise.

I’ll read full article when there’s more info but places like this in NYC, the front door guys or bouncers, one of them is usually an off duty cop with a gun.

NYC being what it is, there are SO MANY bouncers in a place, but even if they are armed, that may not mean anything.
And honestly, I’m not POSITIVE they’re allowed to be armed when working in clubs.
I carry everywhere but you could to pay me enough to do so wearing a uniform.
I looked it up. They CAN carry a gun.
And bouncers here don’t wear uniforms but are just as easy to spot.

The California Highway Patrol was also at the scene. A Ventura County SWAT team was at the scene along with the FBI and ATF agents. The bomb squad was also requested to the scene as a precaution.

Officials Said at Least 30 Shots Were Fired During the Incident
According to the Ventura County Star, initial reports to police from 911 callers described the shooter as a Middle Eastern man in his early 20s with a beard wearing black clothing. Other witnesses said the shooter was either white or Hispanic. Police have not confirmed those details.

It’s a big C&W dance club. My good friend’s (our minister’s wife) son and SIL are State Police in that area. I pray they’re OK. Will check in a few hours.
