Incoming Democrat Chairman: Dems Will Go ‘All-In’ On Russia, Impeach Kavanaugh For ‘Perjury’
The Federalist ^ | 11-7-2018 | Mollie Hemingway

Posted on 11/07/2018 3:00:09 PM PST by Sir Napsalot

Judiciary Committee ranking member Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., revealed plans for House Democrats to investigate and impeach Justice Brett Kavanaugh for alleged perjury and investigate and impeach President Donald Trump for alleged treasonous collusion with Russia.

In post-election chats with various callers while riding the Acela train from New York to Washington, Nadler gave advice to a newly elected representative and discussed potential 2020 Democratic presidential nominees with another. He also lamented identity politics and the thriving economy and worried about Democrats losing working-class voters while gaining elite former Republicans and suburban women.

Nadler ...discussed two routes for investigating new Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh. The first is to go after the FBI for how they handled the investigation into unsubstantiated claims he sexually assaulted women. “They didn’t even do a half-ass job,” he said. “They didn’t interview 30 witnesses who said ‘Interview me! I’ve got a lot to say!'” he said, while mimicking people waving their hands to be called on.

His other plan is to go after Kavanaugh because “there’s a real indication that Kavanaugh committed perjury.” …

(snip)

Nadler said Russia investigations would be under a broad umbrella of holding Trump “accountable,” since it’s a more palatable argument than impeachment, that they would be going “all-in,” and much of what they get to would be “depending on what [special counsel Robert] Mueller finds.” Still, he said the Judiciary Committee would only be in a supportive role to Rep. Adam Schiff and the Intelligence Committee, which has “a way ahead start on that.” Still, he said Judiciary “will have a role” in the Russia investigations.

That’s assuming every single one of those Dems votes for impeachment. They will probably go ahead with it, just because they hate this President that much. The Dems don’t have an agenda, other than turning America into a Venezuelan sh*thole with everyone bowing down and begging Dems for everything. They have no plan on making life better for everyone, they just hate Trump..so is that how it works, I don’t like you so I will impeach you..I wonder how the Dems will react if they ever take the Presidency and the same is done to them

You make a good point. Since any impeachment of either Justice Kavanaugh or President Trump would be a futile gesture, would Speaker Polosi be ok with proceeding. Many in her caucus hate President Trump with the heat of 10,000 suns, but some might like enjoying the amenities of D.C. for a bit longer. I can’t believe that the ‘thinkers’ in the democrat party see this as a way to increase their chances of winning election. But I guess, we’ll see.

“They didn’t interview 30 witnesses who said ‘Interview me!”

And one of these witnesses was perhaps the person who admitted to making the whole story up?

The subpoena power of the house is a mute power once the players they want to call on are indicted or under federal investigation. Pelosi is not smart enough to understand that Demonrat actions will force Trumps hand in a direction they will not like.

To hell with running the US ?

Our favorite pubbies showed them the way. Why put yourself out trying to run the country when you can just sit back, engage in public theater, take your cut and join the corrupt cocktail party that floats around the world with free booze and hookers for all the playahs.

Trump basically threw down the gauntlet today, stating if they go after him, he will do the same to them. Me thinks their asses will be kicked way before Trump’s.

It is on Bi-atches.

Excellent post. Your analysis is so concise and strikes a chord with me.

I am 58 and am thoroughly bewildered at how ignorant way too many people are today in our country and at how our society has devolved. There apparently are no standards for respect and outrageous behavior is easily tolerated.

COMMON CORE has essentially destroyed our public education systems. There are no longer rewards for achievement and liberal indoctrination is rampant from preschool through college.

BTW, my late father (born in 1914) attended a one-room schoolhouse which was located on the same road as the farmhouse in which I spent my first 8 years of life.
My late mother (born 1924) was born in Baltimore and received a rather normal public education there. Today, children in once used to be known as “Charm City” can hardly read at an eighth grade level upon graduation and are forced to be in classrooms with little to no heat, wearing coats indoors during much of the winter. Of course, just walking to school while dodging bullets doesn’t help either.

I hope and pray that our decline is not inevitable and that President Trump will in fact do more than temporarily put on the brakes.

Again, appreciate your keen insight.

Yep, I’m pretty much selectively off-grid. I look after my disabled Mom and she’s a Fox News junkie and likes to watch the evening news at dinner time. She has her own entertainment room on one end of the house so I don’t have to deal with it too much.

No thanks. I'm trying to figure, is this a joke or just wishful thinking of someone with little hope of ever making happen? Or bread for the masses of unwashed dims to consume at the circus?
