Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is reportedly on his way to the White House after Jeff Sessions was asked to resign Wednesday. Rosenstein currently oversees special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into potential Russian collusion and interference in the 2016 presidential election. President Trump tweeted Wednesday that Sessions’ chief of staff Matthew Whitaker, a prominent Mueller critic, would be named acting attorney general.

Why does anyone have to announce in advance he might resign in 48 hours ?? Why big just let it be a surprise (timing wise) like sessions today? Would have been great in they both resigned today ...

Right. But typically the next in line moves on as “acting” until the position is filled permanently. (And that is what happened.) The next in line was a woman but I found out today she went to the private sector a while ago - Walmart, I guess.

Well...there is that written evidence of a resignation letter signed by Sessions. Many cabinet members have been fired in the previous 100 years, and few of them signed a letter of resignation. Sessions could have told Chief of WH staff, I am not resigning, fire me!

The RATS have crazies like Maxine Waters who will be on CNN repeatedly calling for Trump's impeachment. The SENATE will do nothing as you noted BUT if the crazies go for it, in 2020 Donald Trump will be re-elected and the Red Wave will bury the RATS.

Just think if PDJT would have cleared house, arrested HRC and went after the money man George Soros on DAY ONE, how much nicer his first two years would have been.

Your point is well taken and I’ve considered that. I do realize that in politics timing is very important. However, in this particular case my views are conflicted for the following reasons. While Trump may be withholding the FISA docs for tactical reasons which can benefit him and us in the long run, I think there is another overriding considering that is even more important, and that is the need for the American people to know who tried to subvert their president and how they did it. That information, had it been released earlier, could have led investigators down many new paths and exposed the full extent of the plot against the president, and our election process.
I can’t think of anything more important to the country than exposing and rooting out subversion, if not outright treason. We can’t play political games with that kind of threat.
The war has already started. Its up to Trump to help us fight it without further delay in my humble opinion.
Rod will have an offer to resign, that he can’t refuse.
