Pop superstar Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Democratic Senate candidate Phil Bredesen failed to persuade the great people of Tennessee on Tuesday.

The race was called for Tennessee Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN-07) at around 8:05 pm. She handily defeated her Democratic opponent, former Gov. Phil Bredesen, whom Swift gave a full-throated endorsement....

One lesson to be learned here is that a music artist who mainly appeals to middle school girls is not going to be taken seriously by anyone as a political pundit.

For one thing, her core audience isn't old enough to vote. And even parents who are willing to shell out $250 apiece for her concert tickets will tend to think of her as nothing more than a teenager.
