It was edited out by ABC:

Acosta....continuing bad form....
.... yank his credentials.
Sorry, he didn’t knock her out, but what he did was assault. If you swing and miss someone, that is also assault. Agree, in a real world situation this is nothing, but it is assault by legal definition.
Agree. There was no assault and I hate the little ba$tard.
“Assault. At Common Law, an intentional act by one person that creates an apprehension in another of an imminent harmful or offensive contact. An assault is carried out by a threat of bodily harm coupled with an apparent, present ability to cause the harm.”
Sorry guys, but refusing to give back the microphone isn’t ASSAULT...
Yes its bad behavior, and makes Acosta look bad, but its not ASSAULT... and yes they edited it.. but come on guys... that’s not assault.
It’s time Trump put a stop to this kind of thuggism at his newsies - begin each session with a statement that he will entertain one or two reasonable and politely asked questions from each reporter, whom he will recognize in turn - the first time somebody like Acosta starts acting out, the news conference will be terminated and the reporters can go home - let the journalists police their own - I’m guessing the likes of Acosta won’t misbehave more than once as soon as his peers come to understand that such misbehavior is going to limit their chances to be on stage with the president of the United States......
Better watch it again in slo-mo. There was no assault.
I agree it is probably not assault. But he does aggressively push off on her. And ABC did edit that out.
He is an insult to real men..close enough.
Agreed! I didn’t see it either.
He pushed back on her arm. Technically, that’s assault. But it’s likely moot; no one will press charges, and CNN sure won’t do anything to him. He should be barred from the WH Press Core, though; a thing long overdue, imho.
From https://www.criminaldefenselawyer.com/resources/district-columbia-assault-laws.htm
In the District of Columbia, it is a misdemeanor to:
assault another person, or threaten someone in a menacing manner.
(D.C. Code § 22-404.)
Under general legal principles, an assault is a physical act or a show of force that puts another person in fear of imminent harm or offensive physical contact. For example, hitting someone with a fist could be considered an assault, and so could throwing a beer bottle at an individual. Because the Districts laws criminalize both assaults and threats, neither injury to nor physical contact with the victim is necessary to violate Washington, D.C.s assault law.
Gee- with all the sexual assaults-—UNWANTED TOUCHING has been qualifying to cost someone their job.......
Well, if complimenting a woman is now sexual assault as described by many of the MeToo movement..........then yes, I believe he may have karate chopped that poor, sweet, defenseless little girl. /sarcasm
Thanks for this. I would say that he assaulted her then.
And this makes me re-consider a couple incidents in my past with hostile people, that probably also qualify as assault.
Isn’t it assault if women say it is assault? Hmmm?
Corey who?
