Where have millennial men gone? Updated 20 hours ago
Millennial males have been dropping out of the U.S. workforce faster than any other age and gender demographic. Half a million more men aged 25 to 34 would be working now if, like women and some other groups, their participation had returned to pre-crisis levels or better, Bureau of Labor statistics show. Reasons include increased rates of school and training, as well as disability and illness. Other factors feeding into the phenomenon:
*Fewer high-paying manufacturing and mining jobs *More young adults living at home *Better video games *Increased opioid use

I disagree. I used to agree with that view, but when you are attacked for over 40 years just for who you are it takes a toll. I was one of those who stood with those who said men shouldn’t play the victim card. The problem is everybody else did, was supported by the emerging cultural which continued their anti male assault. So as others benefited from the victim game men were pushed further to the fringe until now it is acceptable to call for the total ostracization of white males on national TV with no blowback. This doesn’t end well. I would recommend you read the ‘War on Boys’, it was written the late 90’s as I recall, but was very prescient.
My kids are already resigned to the fact(in their minds)that they will never find anyone worthy in our leftist saturated environment.
I keep telling them someday God will find someone for them.
The boy and girl are now young adults, 22 and 17 1/2.
That is far too soon to give up, IMO.
They’re good kids.
I’m very proud of them.
They’ve always had very high standards.
I wonder how much the endlessly repeated ads on TV affects self-image and creates expectations that become reality for the males.
We boomers probably had the subliminal message internalized that risking one’s life to protect women & children like Eliot Ness, the various Gary Cooper or John Wayne characters or real life military heroes was worthwhile and manly.
Are you millennial-hating (real original to look down on the young; didnt this occur in Platos time??) people on this thread (not directed to the OP) so removed from youth that you have no millennial children or know no people in their 20s?
It is seriously a dull enterprise to pick on those with less years of experience. Im bored of you all doing it. Hasnt been a single generation that didnt do it, so dont you all feel like cows following other cows in a pasture? Ageist works both ways. Both ways are stupid, IMO. Old people do things the old ways. New people dont know as much, make more mistakes, yada yada yada.

So am I-—they all sound like a bunch of of bitter old fogies.

No mater where I turn, I see guys today who would never have made it in the 50’s. What are they drinking? It has to be in the water, they are behaving like shy girls. Even when they walk they appear to have the motions of walking down a designers runway. What are the MDs prescribing, is there something going on to make males docile? I keep seeing more and more of it. Soft skin will not survive in a dangerous world, yet that seems to be the big appeal of the left. Wait til they find out, that the sheep leading them are really wolves.
Isn’t that an oxymoron?
It is.
There is one element of this thing no one is thinking about and that is the probability that some or many of these usless males are going to get angry at some point.
It ends up being like the big kid in the sandbox who says Youre only FIVE. Im SIX!
Yep!
.
How so?
Well, there is one way to counteract all the damage done to them by the public schools and TV.
HOMESCHOOL you kids.
My son is all boy and I let him.
He did not have to put up with the public school destruction of his manhood. When he was 7-8 he wanted an axe to chop firewood with. We got it for him, insisted that he wear work boots and goggles for protection, which he understood the need for, and I didn’t watch. For both my sake and his.
We let him expend his energy in normal boy ways, and did not put unreasonable restrictions on him to expect him to act like a girl for approval and validation.
He didn’t have to put up with the crap on TV sitcoms where people got their laughs at men’s expense.
He is now 28, married right out of college with a job under his belt to support himself and his wife, is on his second house, second job, and pursuing his master’s degree, all on his own, and making very good money.
He even took me to the shooting range recently to try out some handguns to see what I like the best.
He knows who he is and what he believes.
He is a son I am proud to claim as mine.
They are young yet and there are plenty of good matches for them if they just keep their eyes open.
I keep telling them that.
Assuming that she is financially secure - is she also generous? Or would it be one of those “His Money is Their Money” and “Her Money is Her Money” deals?
I wonder because a guy i used to work with was evicted from his home (at gunpoint) by sheriff’s deputies because he was behind on the payments. I found out much later that his wife owns a prime piece of real estate in a small town and that the town would have paid a $Million for it but she couldn’t bear to part with it. So they ended up moving in with one of his sons and daughter in law. I guess “Her Money” was “Her Money”.
Tell people that they are worthless and useless often enough and some of them will begin to believe it.
Oops - comment was intended for the story about the woman looking for a husband.
I didn’t marry until 32. I dated, but I never met a good woman that was level headed. Finally found one. Married the little unicorn.
