Active Denial Systems - Headed to the Border!

Was looking at Tweets concerning tanks and other military gear heading for the Mexican Border to deal with the hostile invasion.

Sure looks like they have several Active Denial Systems on the way! They will be peeing their pants and running back into Mexico!https://t.co/L6XL0h11Qb pic.twitter.com/dkCuv1gNs3 — A Sheepdog (@NCSheepdog) October 31, 2018

Found a picture of an Active Denial System. And just what is an ADS?

Couple of links...

Active Denial System

The Active Denial System (ADS) is a non-lethal, directed-energy weapon developed by the U.S. military,[2] designed for area denial, perimeter security and crowd control. [3] Informally, the weapon is also called the heat ray[4] since it works by heating the surface of targets, such as the skin of targeted human subjects. Raytheon is currently marketing a reduced-range version of this technology.[5] The ADS was deployed in 2010 with the United States military in the Afghanistan War, but was withdrawn without seeing combat.[6] On August 20, 2010, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department announced its intent to use this technology on prisoners in the Pitchess Detention Center in Los Angeles, stating its intent to use it in "operational evaluation" in situations such as breaking up prisoner fights.[7] The ADS is currently only a vehicle-mounted weapon, though U.S. Marines and police are both working on portable versions.[8] ADS was developed under the sponsorship of the DoD Non-Lethal Weapons Program with the Air Force Research Laboratory as the lead agency.[9][10] There are reports that Russia[11] and China are developing their own versions of the Active Denial System.[12]

The Active Denial System (ADS) is a non-lethal, directed-energy weapon system under development by the U.S. military. It is a strong millimeter-wave transmitter used for crowd control (the "goodbye effect"[1]). Raytheon is currently marketing a reduced range version of this technology."[2] The ADS works by directing electromagnetic radiation at a frequency of 95 GHz[3] toward the subjects. The waves excite (see Excited state) water molecules in the epidermis (skin) to around 55 °C (130 degrees Fahrenheit), causing an intensely painful burning sensation. While not actually burning the skin, the burning sensation is similar to that of a light bulb being...

I did not know what an ADS was. I suspect 5,000 plus invaders do not know either.

But they are about to find out.

A video posted to Twitter Tuesday showed a shipment of hundreds of military vehicles reportedly being sent to the US border in anticipation of a showdown with the migrant caravan currently headed to the US.

Another one here

One more here.

Hopefully there is more than one unit.

I suspect the invaders will divide up at the border and try to cross at multiple points simultaneously.

The film clip featuring 40+ M-1 tanks was almost certainly headed to Fort Irwin:

People are jumping on the clip waaaaay too fast.

EXCEPT the video he clipped from has NOTHING to do with the deployment to the border! 35 tanks? C’mon. Clearly a routine re-allocation among bases.

I was on a team that was evaluating ADS for the Army. Impressive in some ways, but it had some serious limitations and weaknesses. That was back in 2004 or 2005. So maybe those issues have been addressed in newer versions.

I hope so too.

I’m scouring the inner-webz for a verifiable news link to actually confirm if there are in fact ADS’s in route.

If anyone finds such a link - please post.

Thanks.

I prefer they use puke/poop gas that the Israelis use. Little more messy but would expose any weapons they are carrying when they strip to clean up.

Need a shower? Try out our little water canon for size.

Why? Because jihadist aren't deterred by poop in their pants? (That's probably a normal state for them?) Or because Obama didn't want to embarrass jihadists by making them poop their pants?

Ahhh. Phooey. Don’t rain on my parade.

Upthread I advised that I’m looking for a VERIFIABLE source.

For now, we can only hope these are on the way. Would be nice, yes?

The military also needs thousands of gallons of skunk spray, mounted with long range cannon on top of APCs. There is some out there that is organic and utterly non-toxic (and utterly AWFUL smelling). Either that, or “Liquid Ass.”
