President Trump said Monday that "tent cities" will be set up to provide shelter for migrants seeking asylum.
"We're going to put tents up all over the place," Trump said on Fox News. "We're not going to build structures and spend ... hundreds of millions of dollars. We're going to have tents, they're going to be very nice and they're going to wait and if they don't get asylum, they get out."

Trump needs to respond with brute force in defending the border from this invasion.
The enemedia will scream hell about it but most real citizens will back him.
This is a big let down........
Relax. Trump knows how to play this. He has proven that over and over.
Chill.
This is a mistake. Ask the English and French about Calais.
Mexico has already offered them asylum but they turned it down. That means they are not seeking asylum, only the benefits of welfare in the US.
The tent cities should only be used as a staging area to send them back. Otherwise, tent cities will be a magnet for more caravan invasions.
Is this to be the ‘hair on fire’ thread ?
Folks need to put on a Nomex hat and be patient.
Until proven otherwise, I’ve confidence that President Trump and his advisors are on this like white on rice.
I agree, the judiciary will let them out. This is an awful statement; they need to be stopped NOW in Southern Mexico by any means necessary. If they get in they will stay and millions more will come to collapse the US.
Totally close the border and don’t let them in.
No flames here - I agree with you.
Rather, we should tell the Mexican government that the tent cities will be 50 miles in THEIR country. We will provide logistical and other support. But they don't step one foot into our nation. We cannot trust the corrupt judges and the corrupt Deep State.
Agreed. This is a disaster in the making.
Trump needs to use his powers at commander in chief to protect us from this and all invasions. Not house, feed, etc., the troops of the invading enemy for them.
Not really. That’s why as it is we have more families than ever storming our borders every day.
They have homes. Send them home. They do not have to be let into USA. Tents or no tents, well never get rid of them if theyre let in.
“Mexico has already offered them asylum but they turned it down. That means they are not seeking asylum, only the benefits of welfare in the US.
The tent cities should only be used as a staging area to send them back. Otherwise, tent cities will be a magnet for more caravan invasions.”
Bingo! We have a winner!
The tents are to work within the law. When a person seeks “asylum,” by law the US has to process them... this I believe is why the tents are being set up. Don’t let them “in” the country to freely roam and remain. Process them - and then remove those who are fraudulently entering under “asylum” requests.
Asylum Seekers?
The World Court only grants asylum status when a refugee enters the first safe country, in this case, Mexico. Once the first is says nothing about transiting a country.
These Central Americans loose their refugee status if they try to gain entrance to a second country.
These are economic invaders!
“Totally close the border and dont let them in.”
That’s the idea.
No doubt.
He said they would remain in the tents until their asylum case was adjudicated.
Thus no release after catching. Only about 20% of asylum seekers are allowed in after going to court. So 80% of those kept in tents will be deported.
Also, by creating these tent cities at the border, Americans will be able to see with their own eyes how large the problem of illegal immigration is.
Now when it’s reported that 7,000 a week are coming across illegally it’s just a number. But to see 7,000 a week piling up in tent cities will have citizens clamoring for a wall. (The press will be breathlessly reporting about the inhumanity of it all).
