Road Trip: Naval Support Activity Mid-South, Tennessee

Naval Support Activity Mid-South (NSA Mid-South, NAVSUPPACT Mid-South, NSAMS), in Millington, Tennessee, is a base of the United States Navy. A part of the Navy Region Southeast and the Navy Installations Command, NSA Mid-South serves as the Navy’s Human Resources Center of Excellence.

The base is host to several commands and other military tenants: Navy Personnel Command, Navy Recruiting Command, the Navy Manpower Analysis Center, a Marine reserve Company - Bridge Company C (6th ESB, 4th MLG) and the US Army Corps of Engineers Finance Center. More than 7,500 military, civilian, and contract personnel are assigned/work on base.

Initially established as Park Field, it was one of thirty-two Air Service training camps established after the United States entry into World War I in April 1917.

The Naval Support Activity has over 7,500 enlisted and officer personnel, civilians, and full-time contract personnel, who provide all essential logistic and operational support to the commands and activities on board. As the base has evolved and changed, so has its impact on the area. It plays an important part in the community and is one of the largest single employers in the state of Tennessee.

The base continues the goal to become the Navy’s premiere support installation by striving to maintain excellence in our facilities and services.  The efforts and accomplishments of the NSA Mid-South team have been recognized and rewarded the past several years by repeatedly earning both the Governor of Tennessee’s Quality Commitment Award and the Greater Memphis Association for Quality Leadership Award.

Howdy, LUV.

It was a nice day, though about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday. No wind so it felt pretty good when I took Bella to the vet for a shot. Tomorrow will be pretty much like yesterday .... warmer and windy again.

So they DO have another cam at that house? COOL! What a darling scap of the behbehs.

Uh oh. Well, I reckon everyone has their off days from time to time. :-(

I DID know it’s National Cat Day. Our kittehs expected something special to celebrate but are sorely disappointed.

We have a few extras we could pass on to LUV but she wouldn’t want them. NO ONE wants the buttheads so we’re stuck with ‘em. LOL

I still have one more that needs fixin’. Cha-ching. Radu is doing quite well raising her hellions. :)

I wish I could take credit for the scap, but I stole it from the owl group on FB. That cam wasn’t live earlier today. They’d better get on the ball since there are cuties to watch and laugh at.

How is Bella doing after her shot? Hope her nasty asthma is gone for the time being.

I never heard any stories but do know my buddy could party hearty back in the day. LOL

If you haven’t seen Scott’s video tonight, you need to pull it up. Pretty cool stuff, wandering the lava field on Big Daddy’s back side.

It’s going to take a while to get over the expense of all these surgeries. But at least there won’t be additions to the family! Ghost had better not show up with another girlfriend! LOL!

I thought you’d been lucky enough to be the one who captured that cute moment. I haven’t checked in the past hour or so but the cam wasn’t running when I last looked. I haven’t had a good look at the wee ones yet. :-(

Bella’s doing better this evening. The shot doesn’t stop the wheezing entirely but it’s diminished drastically. She’s a happy girlie.
