In a highly unusual plea, Mohammed al-Issa, an ally of the kingdoms reformist crown prince, says mission could help provide fertile ground to find solutions
The head of the Saudi-based Muslim World League has called for a Muslim-Christian-Jewish interfaith delegation to travel to Jerusalem to promote the cause of peace by finding common ground between religions.
Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Karim al-Issa, who is an ally of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, told Fox News in an interview Thursday: We should send a peace convoy that is representative of all three Abrahamic religions. They should be Muslim, Christian and Jewish and they should visit all holy sites.
They should meet everyone and find common ground, and they should provide fertile ground to find solutions for peace.
The call is highly unusual given that Saudi Arabia has no formal diplomatic relations with Israel, and that much of the Arab world does not recognize Israel and rejects its claims to Jerusalem.
The former Saudi justice minister added that such a delegation should be independent of politics and should have no political agenda whatsoever. They will be more influential without a political agenda because they are independent.
Such a visit is not from Saudi Arabia and it should not represent Saudi Arabia. It comes from the Muslim world, the Christian world and the Jewish world. It has no relevance to any country whatsoever, al-Issa said.
The Muslim World League is a non-government organization of Sunni scholars, based in Mecca. Its primary donor is the Saudi Arabian kingdom, according to its website.

Interesting.
Oh..he said “reformist”.
Sunni scholars, based in Mecca...
Enough said.
Fortunately the Israeli are too smart to fall for this.
Boy is this guy taking his life in his hands!
Hey Israel, you might wanna frisk the Saudi members of this “peace delegation”.
Just sayin’.
It’s my understanding that the Saudis realized a while ago that neither Israel nor Christians are the real enemies....they’ve realized that Iran is the enemy.
Of course he does. As long as Jews and Christians submit, everything will be peaceful
Your understanding is incorrect.
Saudi Arabia and Iran represent the two big sects of Islam - sunni and shia. Those sects compete - violently.
But any peace overtures to Christians and Jews (and everyone else) are contrary to the koran and are therefore taqiyya because they are only acceptable within the confines of taqiyya. Both shia and sunni believe that all governments must come under sharia law - that is the fundamental goal of islam (not personal conversion).
They believe you WILL be assimilated. After that shia and sunni will battle for final supremacy.
Since these are religions, and believe in 3 different supernatural beings, Yahweh-Jesus Christ and Allah being separate Gods; it is impossible.
And saying we worship the same God but by different means won't cut it either.
It is like 3 mathematicians who separately believe 9x8= 70 or 72 or 75. It is hard to reconcile the differences. - Tom
Oman was one of the personnel and supply transfer points for Iran's destabilization of and jihad support in Yemen. Now this:
This from the Wahhabis? Huh!
As someone who spent many years living in the Middle East, I am intrigued by the Saudi overtures. Bin Salman has attempted to reform his country and has opposed the radicals. Like Oman, he realizes that the real threat comes from Iran, and would gladly give Israeli jets access to Saudi airspace on their way to attack Iran. Israeli-Arab relations have come a long way since I was there. Even back in those days relations were such that I took an Israeli tour of Egypt; that commerce has greatly expanded. The border with Jordan has been quiet since the days of King Hussein - no terrorists get through there. Syria, of course, is in ruin, and scarcely in a position to threaten Israel. And Lebanon - what’s going on there? I lived in Israel during the brutal war for Beirut - once again it is (to a lesser degree, to be sure) the “Paris of the Middle East.” But it must be said that in the south Hezbollah is biding their time, with tens of thousands of missiles ready to go when their taskmaster Iran gives the word. The Great Battle will be between Israel and Iran. At the moment Israel (also the US) is engaged in limiting an Iranian land bridge through Syria to their Hezbollah proxies in southern Lebanon. Israel - beautiful land! Jerusalem is incomparable. What I wouldn’t give for a plate of hummus and falafal on Ben Yehuda Street.
