Breaking: @joyent, Gab’s new hosting provider, has just pulled our hosting service. They have given us until 9am on Monday to find a solution. Gab will likely be down for weeks because of this. Working on solutions. We will never give up on defending free speech for all people.

So it will become all too easy to deny that Bowers was anti-Trump and anti-Q, since his Gab posts demonstrating those facts will soon be inaccessible, until well after the election.
Gab has its faults with serious antisemitism and other things I don't like but one can mute those people, mute the porn( I never saw any) mute the conspiracy theorists and the site is manageable.
I'd like to see it moderated but again one positive of NOT having it moderated is people speak their minds for a variety of reasons or they troll for responses. Nevertheless, those folks that do speak their minds gives insight to their souls. Some are downright disturbing and evil.
In that respect I believe Gab, being a window to the disturbing evil souls gives insight as to the principalities and darkness in high and low places.
That is the only positive for the crap I see on there.
Free speech is exactly what it’s name implies. Freedom of speech does not guarantee that your sensibilities won’t be offended. If you don’t understand that, then you fail to grasp the concept oft the 1st Amendment.

Yep, generally agree...but once you go down the “moderated” route you cease to be a 1st Amend./free speech site....look what happened to Reddit (a free speech alternative to Reddit is “Voat”). To be an uncensored site you have to put up with some people you loathe...which isn’t much of a problem with Gab...people are “mutable” and you don’t follow them.

The only reason they were in the finance sector in the first place was because they weren’t allowed to do much else. It was left to them because usury [charging interest of any kind] was considered sinful. Funny thing is, agreeing to pay interest was not considered off limits and a lot of the same people who thought of lenders as sinful were more than willing to get into debt to them.
