That clip showed more of MK’s remarks than I ever heard in the news stories. She said that when she was young, a girl wanted to go trick or treating as Diana Ross, so the girl darkened her skin to look more like DR. Not exactly an action intended to insult black people.
But PCness is irrational and emotional and little or nothing will turn its adherents away.

I certainly have thought about the psychology of it. One could say/see the same with Muslims in relation to non-Muslims, and more specifically Jew-hatred. I understand when someone is steeped in something from day one and how it will shape their outlook. Sometimes for the good. Sometimes for the bad.
I’d happily get fired if I can get just 10% of the payout she received.
Money is certainly nice, but I don’t know if admitting to some great offense and humiliating one’s self like they are a criminal is worth it...it’s character damaging.

I’m sure Whoopie is right now thinking of a reason why it was okay back then and nothing like what Megyn said ... and Danson will act remorseful and say ‘sorry if I offended’ - and that will be the end of it.
The explanation will be accepted and repeated by MSM and ‘comedians’, and the audience will be shown nodding and likely giving a standing ovation for her ‘brilliance’.

Abject lesson for anyone in the media. When you haven’t done anything wrong, or at least something that other employees have also done, DO NOT APOLOGIZE! Megyn knew Andy Lack and her Today colleagues had it out for her ever since she dared to allow Matt Lauer’s conquests on her show to talk about how he took advantage of them. Remember, Lack and at least Al Roker are still friends with Lauer and were seen dining with him in the Hamptons despite his firing.
Megyn is not so dumb that she doesn’t know who her enemies are. The moment she sent a mass e-mail and went on TV apologizing for minstrel shows and other dumb sheit that had nothing to do with her comments about the woman who dressed up as Diana Ross in blackface on Real Housewives she gave up all of the high ground she previously had. It’s the same thing as Trump calling the Access Hollywood tape “locker room talk” and moving on with no real apology.
Before her apologies, Me-Again had the legal high ground if NBC tried to fire her and keep the $30-some-odd million NBC still owes her. Not only that, she could argue that Jimmy Fallon actually APPEARED in blackface and any attempt to fire her should include his dismissal as well. After she made them they became discoverable in any legal action she might take against NBC. She might still get her money but her job is as good as gone and since Jimmy Fallon never apologized for something he never should have been sorry for in the first place their cases diverge.
DO NOT apologize to people who are out to get you. Ever. It makes no sense. None.
What about Rachel Dolezal? She was in blackface for years and all you here are crickets from the left.
There were definitely several at NBC who had their knives for MK, just looking for a chance to use them. But I’m surprised Megan didn’t know how un-PC black face is, harkening back to Al Jolson and his minstrel shows in blackface, or how un-PC that later became.
And then there is the blatant hypocrisy in that Jimmy Fallon and Ted Danson appeared in blackface and faced little criticism for it. What MK said was naive, but should not have resulted in all the predictable PC outrage and vengeance taken out on her. Haven’t heard who sort of clauses might be in her contract that addressed such an occurrence, if any. But I guess she’ll have her $60 million to ease the transition.
Not only were there crickets from the left, there was revisionist history that that was “her truth.”

Not a fan of Me-again, but she did nothing wrong and did not deserve to be canned. Though, if you’re gonna get canned, it’s nice to get a few millions for the road.
