Despite Mexican efforts to stop them at the border, about 2,000 Central American migrants swam or rafted across a river separating that country from Guatemala, re-formed their mass caravan in Mexico and vowed to resume their journey toward the United States.
Their numbers swelled to about 5,000 overnight and at first light they set out walking toward the Mexican town of Tapachula, 10 abreast in a line stretching approximately a mile.
It was not immediately clear where the additional travelers had materialized from since about 2,000 gathered on the Mexican side Saturday night. They seemed likely to be people who had been waiting on the bridge over the Suchiate River or in the Guatemalan town of Tecun Uman and who decided to cross during the night.

another question comes into play - how long will the trafficking cartels let this go on? They’re losing $10-20K a head on the Guatamalan batch.
Also, if the crowd has swelled to 7,000+ that fast, we can bet more caravans have been organized behind this one.
Lastly, Messicans better guard their babies and toddlers closely - it’s now well advertised that babies are required to get over the border, especially ones who can’t verbalize who their parent is. The case yesterday of the woman throwing herself and two under-10 kiddies 40 feet off the bridge into a not very deep river demonstrates how disposable kids are to some cultures.
Ditto that. Also find out if your religious affiliation is financing this mob. It's been announced that, among others, Catholic and Lutheran charities are helping in massive ways....especially in finding places to lodge the aliens.

Yeah, I think the feeling is mutual. They’re all Hispanic but as subgroups they dislike each other. Which is another reason I question the logic of this caravan.
Presumably the left’s plan is to get Hispanics in America riled up so they’ll come out and vote Democrat...but most Hispanics in America are Mexican or of Mexican descent. Are Mexicans going to feel sympathy for an approaching army of Hondurans and Guatemalans? I could see it being just the opposite. They may actually want El Jefe Trump to show strength and repel the caravan.
Now I did see someone say upthread that the original Guatamalans and Hondurans have basically been replaced by Mexicans at this point. If so, that is quite a clever switcheroo. To the average Joe who isn’t paying attention they would still be Central American “refugees”, but to Mexicans in America who are paying attention they would now be a bunch of their Mexican compadres.
