Last month, a few days after my six-year-old daughter started first grade, I was standing in the schoolyard, having just watched her walk off to her classroom, when I was accosted by another parent.
She told me that, given my conservative views, I should leave liberal California and move to Kansas, where Id learn how they treat Jews like me.
I asked her if she thought she was being tolerant. She replied: I am tolerant. I just hate you.
I have hesitated to write about that incident until now, because I did not want to escalate the conflict. But in the past several weeks, it has become clear that conservatives around the country are having similar experiences.

Scott Adams, the Dilbert cartoonist who has become a widely respected political pundit thanks to his understanding of methods of persuasion, often notes that fear is the most effective form of persuasion.
Trump has warned voters that Democrats are an angry mob and voters seem to agree, pushing up Republicans poll numbers. But polls do not vote and volunteers may be too afraid of the mob to do what is necessary to make sure Republican voters turn out on Election Day.
There is already anecdotal evidence from the field, where Republicans are reluctant to canvass their neighborhoods, or even put up yard signs, lest they face retaliation.

Hatecrime legislation gives immunity to these sponsored PC affirmative action terrorists what not.
It is not that we do not fight back, it is that they have huge sponsorship to attack us
Which is why we generally don't play grabass when it could turn into a real fight. The results when we get into serious conflict tend to be rather permanent.
There are indeed some very dangerous places in California to be a conservative. Balkanized.
Well they, and the ever tolerant kkk, fell from the same tree.
Bingo! See my tagline. Why do we tolerate the BS that liberals are nice people, when they are miserable pos? We all know they think we are evil, that we can’t safely talk around them or have a bumper sticker etc, because they are hostile and dangerous.
The MD governor is no republican. If he were honest he would run as an independent as he does not align with any party and touts his great ability to work across the aisle. MD is still run by democrats (e.g., Mike Miller, president of the Maryland senate since 1987).
I am increasingly convinced of the necessity of the Second Amendment. Genocide is typically preceded by extreme hatred, and I believe there are some on the left who would literally kill us if they could get away with it.
I've got six signs up - 4 for candidates and 2 for ballot questions, and I'm behind enemy lines, here in MA. My garage is a supply depot of signs, for myself and others that are planting them all over town.
We may lose most elections, but at least we'll go down fighting.
I think Republicans will turn out to vote, they just won’t discuss it publicly. If the leftists try to hang out at the actual polling places and intimidate voters, that’s where voters (or better, law enforcement) will have to stand up and shove back.
The last American to leave California should reme.ber to take down the flag.
For the record, Jews are treated with respect in Kansas, just like everyone else.
We did that. And a lot of the pols we voted in because of their campaign rhetoric backstabbed us. And continue to do so.
Once told a rather aggressive liberal that if put a hand on me ,it would be the last conscious act of his life. The guy ran away. At their core, liberals are agitated wimps.
The Mob Haters seem to be living in a lower level of awareness. They are being used and manipulated to spread unrest.
Yep. Nobody knows how you voted. It’s the only place you can make a difference in most states.
Exactly. Quiet is not subdued. We are waiting, and we are ready. Their rioting and childish antics merely serve to convert more of us away from Socialist Democrats.
“Why do we tolerate the BS that liberals are nice people ...?
Really. I belong to a quilting group in TN. All of us are conservative and evangelical, except one who is radical liberal and staunch Catholic. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer almost a year ago and most likely will pass on within the next three or four months. The only ones — and I mean ONLY — the only ones who care for her, take her meals, spend time with her, run errands, etc., are conservative evangelicals.
None of her acquaintances from other social groups, or her church, have done one single thing to help her. Nobody from her church (very LIBERAL Catholics in this neck of the woods), or political/socials groups has called, or done one thing to help. (I know she has a clue because she’ll mention small things sometimes.)
Yet they think they’re good and nice people because they donate to charities. The charities are Emily’s List and Planned Parenthood, so ... Totally screwed up.
As Rush says, liberalism is a mental illness. In some cases, it is just plain evil.
Silently go to the polls and beat'em down with a big RED Wave
It's the most enjoyable kind of Schadenfruede and it's fun to watch the Fake News Bots become more and more traumatized as the Election night returns come in.
Best movie ever!
