Rep. Jim Renacci's Senate campaign issued a news release late Thursday that he said depicted an unnamed woman's story of an "unwanted and sudden advance" from Sen. Sherrod Brown in the late 1980s.
The release includes a lengthy statement from Laura Mills, a Canton attorney and former Renacci business partner and political donor. In the statement, Mills says the woman told her friend about the encounter as the MeToo movement unfolded. It occurred while the woman was alone with Brown, who was divorced at the time, through her work, Mills said. The friend then contacted the Renacci campaign, which referred the woman to Mills, the statement says.
The statement does not provide a date, a location, supporting evidence or identify the woman, but describes her as "a very credible source and a professional woman." It comes a day after Renacci told reporters and editors with the Cincinnati Enquirer that he'd heard from "multiple women" with abuse allegations against Brown, while providing no additional details or supporting evidence.

Most conservatives were disgusted by the Kavanaugh allegations. I don’t think they are going to be ok with that game being played by our side.

I agree, unless this woman comes forward with proof. If not, it is not going to turn out well for Renacci.
I’ve finally reached that point: No bruises or no police report contemporaneous with the event, then I don’t care. Human beings are sexual creatures. Much of this stuff we’re hearing about is how it’s done.
I’m officially numb to it.
Even then, it will be passed off as unimportant.. "it's only sex".
Given the chaotic experiences of juvenile coupling, none of us would dare run for office on the off chance that someone, somewhere would "remember" an "unwanted advance".
I remember taking a very nice young women out on a date towards the end of high school and as we left her parent's driveway, the passenger side seat on the old station wagon collapsed back to the prone position and she - now flat on her back - said "this isn't going to be THAT kind of date, is it?" and we both laughed.
Today that sort of episode, viewed through the lens of aggrieved womanhood. would likely bar me from any (Republican) public life.
I would say, ‘Don’t go there’... I think Renacci can win without that s&^t.

Renacci has run an awful campaign, letting Sherrod Brown and his PACs frame him very negatively. These allegations should've come out as soon as that started, not because the allegations from so long ago should be part of it, but for the hypocrisy issue. This would've been really effective if it had been brought up very soon after Senator Brown was "outraged" by the probably bogus claims against Kavanaugh as a teenager.
I don't have a clue what happened to Renacci. He was an effective spokesman for the Deplorables in the HOR.

The Ohio GOP (under direction of Pig Puke) hasn’t given him any money. He is sunk.
