President Trump’s support among U.S. troops appears to be fading, with a new survey from Military Times showing that support for him has ebbed during the past two years while his disapproval rating has increased.
The survey of 829 respondents, conducted between Sept. 20 and Oct. 2, showed that the percentage approving of Trump has declined to 43.8% from 46.1% two years ago, while those disapproving rose to 43.1% from 37%.
Respondents who were neutral on Trump declined from 17% to 13%, “suggesting political polarization inside the military community has intensified in recent years,” the publication said. Military Times is owned Sightline Media, a private publisher with roots stretching back to 1940, when it was known as Army Times.
In comparison, President Trump’s Defense Secretary James Mattis received an 84% approval rating from respondents.
Female respondents, who made up 11% of the total, were more likely to disapprove of Trump, with 28% showing support and 69% disapproving. Among male respondents, 47% approved of Trump while 38% disapproved. Trump’s support was strongest in the Marine Corps and Navy, while those in the Air Force and Navy were more critical. Around 21% of respondents from the Army were neither favorable nor unfavorable, making it the most undecided branch of the armed forces.
Trump won praise in the survey for increasing spending on the military. Criticisms centered around his temperament. “To me, it seems like his presidency is a popularity contest for his ego,” a Navy petty officer told the Times.

I go to the Ft Bragg mini mall every now and again for lunch.
You would be surprised at the number of fat looking female soldiers.
To some it’s a job and you can always claim PTSD when you get out for a free paycheck.
The military is mostly REMFs. I would say the “high speed” warriors account for a very small percentage. Obama filled the military with absolute freaks from private to Flag Officers. Most of the Federal bureaucracy in uniform or white/blue collar is committed to the Federal bureaucracy and is very liberal.
I thought guys had to meet a weight and fitness limit to stay in the army. Is that still true? And, is it different for female soldiers?

Amongst reservists I know in eastern NY, they all seem to like Trump. Officers, NCOs, white, hispanic and black who express and opinion like him. Of course perhaps those that do not like him keep quiet, but overall it seems he is very popular.
Obama was popular with most Hispanics and most blacks so perhaps it is just the folks in the reserves tend to support whomever is in power.
Anyway that poll does not seem accurate.
Not surprising when at least one of the Academies graduates full commies. Not to mention open homos and women.
Very hard to believe or very troubling, that the military would oppose the “temperament” of a strong leader who is always touting giving them more support. He’s also kept them out of war while getting results from allies and enemies. I do fear the whole liberal / gay infiltration.

Absolute horse shit. I have several family members and relatives on active duty reporting that Trump is loved far and wide.
Contrast this with slick Willy, who’s Air Force One was caught and refueled by involuntary “volunteers”.
Time to check the Military Times for Obama hold/bend overs.
While the answer is yes - it doesn’t seem to be very well enforced.
I have ran into Officers who were hard core lefty’s.
Shocked me the first time one said Israel was a terrorist country.
Since it’s a Military Times poll, I suspect it’s an online poll, which has no correlation with reality.
I find this very believable.
But the early 2000s was a different world. DADT was in full effect. Women in combat arms would be unthinkable. Transvestites? Also unthinkable. The military had yet to experience a sapping, endless COIN war, with periods of deadly restrictive ROEs. And the guys I met later on had gone into the military late Bush years -- when the last facades of Reagan's military still existed.
Since then society has degraded and the military right along with it. When you consider the number of women, that the military has gone from being a warfighting machine to a jobs program, now that lefties and trannies and weirdos have had nearly a decade to infiltrate...I wouldn't be surprised if this poll is accurate.
I imagine, I hope, that a poll of combat arms troops would look different.
Correctly (or incorrectly) worded questions can return whatever result the pollsters wish to present.
Without the questions you cannot be sure.
