Some time ago, Kyle S. Reyes, CEO of a company called the Silent Partner Marketing, got sick and tired of dealing with prospective employees who were a poor match with his business philosophy. We get hundreds and hundreds of people reaching out to work for us, he said. I realized it was a time suck on my staff and me to be weeding through endless piles of paper trying to find the handful of people who actually want to hustle for a living and would be a great fit for our company. So Ive implemented something that is going to give HR managers and the PC Police night sweats. I lovingly refer to it as the Snowflake Test.
The Snowflake Test, as it turns out, was a series of 30 questions designed to gauge an applicants views on such things as guns, faith, work ethic, morality, patriotism, company benefits, salaries, and similar tangible and intangible subjects.
The test was stunningly effective, even with people who never took it. A blizzard of snowflakes blasted Reyes for his insensitivity and demanded safe spaces from his triggering questions. I was scolded by a woman on the phone yesterday who told me she wouldnt take the test and shame on me for making people take a test to come work for us, he recalled. She demanded I remove the test or risk losing out on perfect employees like herself.
Meanwhile, Reyes was besieged by businesses requesting his list of questions so they, too, could implement their own Snowflake Tests.

Where I work, I have mostly millennial women (some are even younger) as a workforce. The vast majority are hard-working, intelligent people. They have restored my faith in the younger generation.
Interesting test, and thought provoking. I’d like to see candidates for office answer these questions.
Thank you for taking the time to respond but really I was more looking for his answers. Some of his questions seem geared to weed out people looking for decent compensation than snowflakes.
But in today's #MeTooHustle world, a top executive would be a fool to go to lunch with a woman executive.
Feminists have sowed the wind. Now all women are reaping the whirlwind.
I thought that was the case, too, until I saw a report this week that the requirement is more like one-half of the directors must be female. However, that bumps against the current fluid definition of "female," which this report noted under California law includes those self-identifying as female; the reporter then jokingly suggested the resolution likely will simply devolve to a sufficient number of male directors agreeing to wear dresses for today's meeting.
I seem to normally get all available popups. This time I got none.
I think so. I know of a top notch IT technologist that is currently unemployed and looking for a new position. She has never had a problem getting a in the past but is right now. She is not a liberal at all... just the opposite... but she is getting the distinct feeling in interviews that companies are hesitant to hire women in mostly male dominated groups. It’s a damn shame.
I agree. This follows what you and I have been saying about hiring in the work place. I love the questions. Ill have to incorporate some of them in the hiring process.
I dont blame any male for not hiring these types of females. Why take the risk of a vengeful person like that.
I call them Scrabble people because their printed names look like the letters were withdrawn from a Scrabble bag and then randomly arranged. I worked with a woman for a time with a name like that and I just called her Scrabble. She started to bitch the first time then decided she kind of liked it. She introduced herself a month later to a new hire as Scrabble.
Not “almost.”
My wife told me years ago that the 19th Amendment screwed up the country.
Interesting question. I don’t know what a Starbucks even looks like inside and will probably never find out unless, of course, I am kidnapped and forcibly dragged into one.
Sorry that has been your experience. It has not been mine.
You were making good points and then veered into unrelated subject matter. Presuming that these folks are a minority of a minority, I would think we should welcome them and embrace them for making great choices and following a wise path. Otherwise we are no better than group think dems. Concerning illegals, I dont care what country you are from, if you are here illegally, DEPORT.
That's one of the many things I love about conservative women. Real women are perfectly capable of dealing with comments like that one appropriately.
Scrabble...perfect.
I hope you enjoy it. I really believe it’s the best novel ever written in the English language. It’s not an easy read, but on almost every page I encounter an observation that makes me stop and breathe through my mouth for a minute while my mind breaks windows to access emergency reservoirs of imagination just to process it.
