House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told the San Francisco Chronicle editorial board on Wednesday that Democrats would make exposing President Donald Trump’s tax returns a top priority if they win a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives in November and she is elected Speaker of the House.
Democrats have been obsessed with Trump’s tax returns since the 2016 election, convinced that they will turn up information that would damage or disqualify him, though the information has always been available to the Internal Revenue Service.
Last year, MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow was mocked for hyping a Trump tax return from 2005 that revealed the rather ordinary fact that he had earned more than $150 million and paid $38 million in income taxes.

I read somewhere—maybe here—that the chairman of certain House/Senate committees has the power to investigate tax returns of any citizen. If the Dems get control of the House, you can be sure they will invoke this power. Now, releasing it to the public might be a different matter—but of course, Dem leaks seem to happen.
How has nancy become so wealthy since being in congress.
Couldn’t be a clearer statement that they have none of the nation’s interests in mind. All that’s on their agenda is personal revenge against those who took the power from them - first Trump, then you.
So, win or lose, the leftists plan to inflict hell on this country.
All politicians need to just say no. No to tax returns, period. Democrats coerce opponents to release their tax returns on the theory that all Republicans are evil rich capitalists who are cheating on their taxes and starving the poor. Hillary donated Bill’s old underwear and Pocahontas has inflated the value of her old clothes. But, this is not anyone else’s business. Get taxes and the IRS out of the politics business.
So actually focusing on things people care about like the economy and jobs and moving the country forward is too much to ask of them. Got it.
The reason that the Demon-rats want Trump’s tax returns is to “poison the well” — lean on everyone who has done any business with Trump so that they never make a deal with him again. In his post-presidency, the Demon-rats want to punish him because he prevented the coronation of Queen of the Pant-suits.

She thinks voters will vote crazy Dem just to see tax returns ,LOL , Trump gets audited every year and if there were anything bad in them Harry Reid would have called the IRS and had them sent over

During the campaign trump said he would release returns after audit. That was over21 months ago
That $38 million Trump paid in 2005 was his FEDERAL income taxes.
He must have paid a bundle more for his New York State income taxes, New York City income taxes, real estate taxes, etc.
When you have nothing to offer whine about tax returns .........
translation: America, if you like the Mueller investigation, and want to see dozens more of them on steroids, go ahead and elect Democrats to the House.

It’s nothing but a fishing expedition. A first glance to ask even more questions.
It’s quite likely his 1040 is pretty boring except for the fact that the numbers are likely much bigger. To really find out if he were doing something untoward, they’d need the returns of his businesses and they’ll never see those.
All Trump has to do is say this:
1) I follow Federal and State tax laws - all of them.
2) Sometimes they’ve hurt me, sometimes I’ve used them to my advantage - just as all of you have or would do.
3) I’ve paid every penny I owe.
4) The IRS and NYS Dept. of Finance know where to find me in the event of an issue and I’ve been audited.
5 Don’t like the tax laws I’ve used to my advantage? Elect Congressmen that will change the laws!

Think Trump’s next move should be to cancel any government contracts held by spouses of legislative members. It is a direct conflict of interest.
And then what?
His tax returns mean nothing to his current job.
Pelosi will try and get them. Trump will say no. The Supreme Court will have the final say. Hahahahaha.
Yeah, apparently this is Nancy admitting that the Russian collusion thing failed miserably, so now we’re on to the next lie.
