(snip)-- The same radio network that suspended its news director this week for sexual harassment allegations once hired a controversial Washington Post writer whose history of sexual harassment allegations was well known.
Juan Williams, 63, joined National Public Radio in 2000 despite being at the center of a widely reported sexual harassment scandal at The Washington Post a decade earlier.
Williams now works for Fox News as an analyst.
Post newsroom employees said that Williams had, for years, commented on their bodies, asked them about their sex lives, and said things that were "lewd" and "shocking." Nancy McKeon, then the features editor of the Post Magazine, told Newsweek she remembers Williams asking women, Did your heels hit the ceiling last night? and saying, Now theres a chair Id like to sniff when one employee stood up from her seat.
The comments were known and were even covered by the Washington Post at the time. But NPR hired Williams anyway.
This is ancient, Williams said when Newsweek reached out to him. When asked if the allegations were true, he declined to answer.
(snip) --- Williams was not fired by The Post when the allegations were revealed in 1991. Fifty female employees met with then-Executive Editor Leonard Downie Jr. to object to the newspapers lack of transparency surrounding what disciplinary measures it had taken. Yet Williams was eventually hired by NPR.
*** 'He was like a serial shocker' ***
McKeon, who worked with Williams in the late 1980s, warned him several times during her tenure to stop talking to these young girls like that" and that he'd "have a problem" if he continued. After one art director stood up from her chair, McKeon said she remembers Williams saying, Now theres a chair Id like to sniff.

Harris Faulkner has looks, too. Nothing like some brown sugar in the morning.
She’s on “Outnumbered” on Fox though I think the show should be named “Boxed In”.
;^)
I guess he's guilty, unless of course he can prove his innocence. After all, "this isn't a trial"
The accusations.
What it does is rise to the level of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment.
Instead of assaulting ONE woman, Williams made it difficult for ALL women who worked in the NPR offices to be professional in their careers.
Making locker room jokes about a woman in a conference room in front of others is intended to demean and diminish her as an equal colleague in the eyes of everyone else in the room.
It makes all women in the office have to be on their guard when around him (something the men in the office don't have to do), and it makes all the women suspicious of what else Williams might have said when they're not present.
Having someone like Williams in an office environment only creates tension, suspicion, and generally lowers productivity and morale when a segment of the workforce doesn't want to work with him, but has to.

NNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Not Juan!!!!!
snicker
You’re right. This is the usual childish flirtation banter around the water cooler. Williams is too much the goody two shoes to ever cheat on his wife. He gets his kicks with the sexual innuendos.
In my office, I must say the nurses are pretty gross. So, there’s a level of respectable humor, but it never crosses the line to what Williams is doing. I cannot even imagine myself saying the same thing to my nurse or other staff about sniffing their chair etc.
OTOH, I bet the girls around Juan encouraged it, or they at least did NOT discourage it. If they did, management did nothing about it.
OTOH, I am sure Williams was never around this many beautiful women before he got into the business. He’s your average nerd when it really comes down to it.
This guy was best of friends with Clarence Thomas, who was a pretty liberal left wing guy growing up until he met up with the writings of Thomas Sowell.
Fox picked Williams up out of the dung heap, when NPR kicked him to the curb. I’m still very upset with Fox for booting Kevin Jackson.
YOu know, there’s something called forgiveness. But I understand the zero tolerance policy...
So, if that’s the case, if Williams has made any, I mean any comments since coming to Fox, they should give him the boot.
Why don't you believe them? Is it difficult for you to believe that Juan Williams was a little twisted toward women back then ...... 50 of them??
Get a grip.
Liberals are vindictive and evil to anyone who they consider “on the other side”.
Thus, because Juan works at Fox, and even though Juan is a bed wetting liberal, they will make up crap about him.
The only thing to “get a grip on” is how liberals will make up (and eventually believe) anything. It’s part of the mental illness that is liberalism.
The right hates him. No one likes him, yet he's still working. FOX should have kicked him off years ago.

Hey, Junkie go trim your toenails. You are acting like one anal loon.
____________
Heh manure for brains, I asked the mods long ago to change the date to make anal loons like you happy.
Go clean those cobwebs behind your clothes drier. That's a fire hazard, don't you know?
Are you that insecure that you can't take a simple correction and move on? Why are you being so hostile over such a minor thing?
You know that others are watching... this isn't going to help your credibility in future debates, especially when picking a stupid fight like this with me.

Juan has the job like the Washington Generals of getting beat every day. He has to give and defend the DNC party line. He doesn’t always agree with it. But thats his job. Every other democrat hates the fact that he is paid by Fox. You will notice that those guys don’t have republics on their channel. David Brooks is not a republican, Joe Scarborough is not a republican. But Juan is a real democrat and he is a black Hispanic man who comes on Fox everyday to get shot down.
See my post #33 and his response in #49 where he called me a moron. Wound a little tight is my guess.
Fine with us too - we can't stand the guy either. In fact, we pause The Five so that when Juan speaks, we can fast forward and not have to hear what the democRAT apologist has to say!
I hope FNC gives him his overdue walking papers. He's disgusting.
The lefties are not the only ones!
I'm shocked, because he is one of them!
"Are you that insecure that you can't take a simple correction and move on? Why are you being so hostile over such a minor thing?" -- I am angry ONLY because you are serving (purposefully or not) to distract from the SUBJECT of this thread. Get it, Junkie
"You know that others are watching... this isn't going to help your credibility in future debates, especially when picking a stupid fight like this with me.--- I care not who "is watching". I only care about anal freaks like you who make a big deal about a date (that I asked the Mods to change).
You are just an annoyance. I don't know exactly WHAT I have to do to get the moderators to change the date.
It was requested LONG AGO.

Now go remove that toenail fungus, or go meticulously clean the bottom of your lawn mower with your power hose ....... it may make you feel better.

Did you happen to have a particularly bad day in the market yesterday? Don't worry about it ....... things will be fine.
Counted his pimples.
