Thomas will retire, neither RBG or Breyer will make it 6 more years. And Sotomayor’s health is fragile.
If GOP holds the Senate, and no other justice dies or retires for health reasons, 90% chance that Thomas will retire at the end of the session. He’s hinted for years - would be the perfect time.
Ruth Buzzy had colon cancer in 1999 (at age 66)
She had pancreatic cancer 2009 (at age 76)
She has heart problems and had at least one stent implanted in her heart in 2014 (at age 81)
But Ruth Buzzy might outlive The Wise Latina (age 63). Wise Latina has lifelong Type 1 diabetes and lately she looks like she’s 50 to 60 pounds overweight. She doesn’t just look fat, she literally looks bloated (with fluids), as if she’s experiencing kidney failure and/or congestive heart failure.
Wise Latina was taken by ambulance to the hospital in January (had gone into a blood sugar coma). In April she fell at home and seriously broke her shoulder(probably passed out from another sugar coma). The Wise Latina’s health seems rather unstable to me.
Sotomayor is near the end of her average life expectancy with Type I Diabetes.

Average life span for a female with type 1 diabetes is 68 years (13 years less than the average woman without type 1 diabetes).
My sister had diabetes. She had to take a lot of drugs to control her diabetes and eventually the drugs caused her kidneys to fail. She was on dialysis during the last year of her life. Her last year was just terrible to watch. She had three separate heart attacks, the last one killed her in February 2017. She was 62 years old.
Ginsburg is going to be gone in a year.
She looked like warmed-over death.

Based on what I saw Monday night, the only thing Justice Ginsberg is going to be kicking anytime soon is the bucket.

I saw a video with the “wise Latina” just the other day. I was shocked how terrible she looked. I haven’t really seen her since she was put on the court, so when I saw her, I thought, Wow....what happened to her? She looked extremely “puffy” to me. Not just overweight, but very puffy, especially her face.
