Two weeks: Thats how quickly a foreign technology worker in Silicon Valley can get an employment permit from Canada. In the U.S., that process takes months.
As the administration of President Donald Trump has increased scrutiny of H-1B visas for skilled foreign workers and plans to ban their spouses from holding jobs in the U.S., Canada has been moving aggressively to suck top foreign talent out of Silicon Valley and other technology-rich regions of the U.S.

Of all the Third World residents I think the Indians are about the best. They admire Westerners and try to emulate us as best they can.I'd much rather live next to an Indian than to a Guatemalan.
Somehow I think we’ll be OK.
Yep, the problem is coupled with age discrimination. I think it comes down to health insurance costs more than anything. It sure isn’t capability. In my personal experience H1-Bs are usually not competent compared to most home grown (when it comes to problem solving especially). Additionally Canada has never been a hotbed of new product innovation that I have seen, and any dreamy dreams that it will be is pie in the sky.

Americans can't afford to compete.
The H1B program is a national shame and a complete disaster for American STEM workers.
It needs to be crushed along with anyone who promotes foreign over domestic labor.
Take them all, please. Time to put our graduates & 35+ folks back to work.
Heres something that will backup your claim. In my inbox, I found an urgent requirement for an Apple Developer in Dallas for 6 months... $30 per hour Corp to Corp, with no expenses covered.
