never forget the gloBULL warming scammers want $100 trillion to come from developed countries, including pension funds, while pretending it is for developing countries. rubbish.
it is the greatest scam of all time. Trump and Bolsonaro are their worst nightmare.

this is the main insiders’ website, Climate Home:

8 Sept: Climate Home: ‘Most important years in history’: major UN report sounds last-minute climate alarm
By Karl Mathiesen and Natalie Sauer in Incheon
To pay for this transformation, the world will have invested almost a trillion dollars a year, every year to 2050...

But just when the world needs to go faster, the political headwinds in some nations are growing. Brazil, home to the world’s largest rainforest, looks increasingly likely to elect the climate sceptic Jair Bolsonaro as president.

The world’s second-largest emitter – the US – immediately distanced itself from the report, issuing a statement that said its approval of the summary “should not be understood as US endorsement of all of the findings and key messages”. It said it still it intended to withdraw from the Paris Agreement...
The US sought and was granted various changes to the text...

5 Oct: Marketwatch: Press release: United States : World Bank and State of California Grow Green Bond Partnership
Globally, trillions of dollars in new investment are needed to convert our gross-polluting infrastructure to greener, cleaner alternatives. Green financing is central to unlocking the capital to not only build desperately-needed new infrastructure, but to do it in a responsible and climate-friendly manner, said California State Treasurer John Chiang...

The investment announced Wednesday pushes the total amount of green bonds purchased by the California State Treasurers Office over the past decade to US$1.5 billion.
The bonds mature on October 1, 2020, and pay an interest rate of 2.92 per cent. per annum. J.P. Morgan is the sole lead manager for the bond. Proceeds from the sale will support the financing of projects that seek to mitigate climate change or help affected people adapt to it...

Proceeds from World Bank bonds serve the goals of eradicating extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity by supporting development activities that are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals...

We hosted a Brazillian exchange student and later his sister.

Their father had a Saudi father. Their mother had an Italian father.

Their adjustment to life with no servants was a challenge

It's especially impressive when you consider that Bolsonaro had to conduct most of his campaign from an ICU thanks to a deranged leftist would-be assassin.

I'm very happy for Bolsonaro and his prospects for moving Brazilian politics in the right direction. If he keeps the 46% that he won in the first round, he only needs to pick up a little over 4% to win the general election. However, given the prospects for voter fraud in a country whose corruption makes our sleazy political process looks squeaky clean, that might seem too optimistic.

The two Leftists combined don’t come close to his vote total. A very good sign.

My handy-dandy Newspeak media translation guide for political ideology labels:

Media labels vs. Reality:
Socialist = Stalinist
Liberal = Marxist
Moderate = Socialist
Conservative = Liberal
Far-Right = Moderate
Ultraright/Racist/Bigot = Conservative Mainstream

So Bolsonaro is a Moderate.

This is particularly true when political figures outside of the US are being discussed. Case in point: politicians like Angela Merkel and Theresa May are described as "conservative" by the media. It's also quite telling that "Far Right" or "Ultra-Right" is a common political buzzword, but you almost never hear "Far Left" or "Ultra-Left" being used as a pejorative to describe any political candidate, even when talking about actual, openly Marxist figures.

That’s why there’s no definition in my list for media use of “Communist/Far-Left”, because it doesn’t exist in their world. To them, Communist tyranny is moderate-liberal mainstream.

Pretty accurate translation guide. Bolsonaro seems to be a right-of-center populist, which is "far-right" in mainstream media speak.

The media generally won't even USE the term liberal or left-wing. To them, every political battle involves a "moderate" vs. an "extreme right-winger". Supporting abortion-on-demand and voting with Planned Parenthood 100% of time makes you a "social moderate" in their bubble. For example, witness Mark Kirk. They NEVER referred to him as socially liberal or left-wing, despite the fact his views on social issues were identical to Ruth Bader Ginsburg. In fact, Gisburg HERSELF is referred to as a "moderate" in the media.

Kirk was ALWAYS called a "social moderate and fiscal conservative", when it reality he was far-left on social issues, and a squishy centrist on fiscal issues.

So any time Latin America gets a non-socialist in power, its "far right" according to the mainstream media.

>> That’s why there’s no definition in my list for media use of “Communist/Far-Left”, because it doesn’t exist in their world. To them, Communist tyranny is moderate-liberal mainstream. <<

A good example was the Hillary Clinton vs. Bernie Sanders primary. The media normally doesn't like to use the term liberal or left-wing, but was forced to do so because Sanders publicly identifies as a proud socialist and said so many times. Sanders wasn't even a real Democrat, but a leader of a marxist third party movement running as a Democrat solely to get ballot access. So they identified him as the liberal or left-wing candidate in that case. Hillary Clinton, who was NEVER a "moderate" Democrat and always been a strong promoter of hard-left "progressive" policies, was the "more moderate, mainstream Democrat" candidate.

So the media portrayed that election as a liberal Democrat vs. moderate Democrat, when it reality is was an OPENLY Marxist/Stalinist candidate who wanted to turn the USA into the 1930s Soviet Union vs. a socialist Democrat who just wanted "typical" socialist policies like Universal Health Care.

I just simply called it Communist vs. Stalinist. Ironically, it’s Leaky Leahy the Lush who is more left-wing than Boiny in Merdemont.
