Taylor Swift Breaks Political Silence, Endorses TN Democrats

Taylor Swift has broken her long-held public political silence in an Instagram post encouraging her followers to vote in the November midterm elections and slamming Republican Tennessee representative Marsha Blackburn.

“In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now,” Swift began the post, which was accompanied by a moody, black-and-white photo of the superstar.

“I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country,” she wrote. “I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and that any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG. I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color is terrifying, sickening and prevalent.”

“I cannot vote for someone who will not be willing to fight for dignity for ALL Americans, no matter their skin color, gender or who they love,” the post continues.

”legions of admirers?” WTF? She sings songs for a living. Who really gives a sh*t what she mouths about serious issues?

Naw, legs don’t do it for me. It’s the lyrics.

I said, "No one has to know what we do"
His hands are in my hair, his clothes are in my room
And his voice is a familiar sound
Nothing lasts forever but this is getting good now

He's so tall and handsome as hell
He's so bad but he does it so well
And when we've had our very last kiss
My last request is

Say you'll remember me
Standing in a nice dress
Staring at the sunset, babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you'll see me again
Even if it's just in your
Wildest dreams, ah-ha oh
Wildest dreams, ah-ha oh

And if voters of Tennessee vote in Blackburn, why, Taylor will include biting references to it in another of those songs she pretends she writes.

“I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color is terrifying, sickening and prevalent”.

Anyone who says this nonsense either didn’t live through the 50’s, 60’s, or 70’s, or else they’re an old bitter Lefty. Normal people over the age of 45 see the tremendous improvement in race relations on all levels all over the nation, over the course of their lifetimes.

This is Leftist academia brainwashing 101.....”you kids didn’t live through the Klan bombings in the early 60’s, but let me tell you, not much has changed, it’s just more subtle”.

Total BS. Makes my blood boil. I love calling people out on this whole “institutionalized racism” crap. I screech in their ears that racism is much more subtle because it’s much less prevalent. To call something “institutionalized” because it’s much less overt is like a customer complaing that a pepperoni pizza they ordered hardly has any pepperoni on it, and the waiter says “don’t worry, you’ll still taste it, it’s institutionalized”.

Tay Tay,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but no one is paying you for your political opinions and they matter far less than those of the clowns at Young Turks or FiveThirtyEight whose sole purpose appears to be providing comic relief.

She is a talented singer songwriter.

So is Paul McCartney. And Stevie Wonder. I'm utterly uninterested in their views as well.

Does any freeper think public or private high schools are wonderful places to spend maximum hours in as possible?

Maybe they are, maybe they aren't. But you seem to have missed the point - or avoided it as fanboys/girls are wont to do. Swift by necessity had to sacrifice hours in school for touring etc. at an early age. Nobody is demanding or discussing 'maximum hours' - except perhaps you - but demonstrable empirical knowledge regardless of the time spent would be a reasonable baseline before we hear her views on subjects she lacks knowledge and/or experience in.

In fact, it might be reasonably suggested that more a person knows the less prone they are to categoricals, making demands and telling others how and why to vote.

DeBlasio might have been afraid that one day, after his mayoral terms, and his security detail is no longer with him, he might disappear like Jimmy Hoffa, never to be found again. And I could see a bunch of goombahs doing the deed.

Sorry. I homeschooled 3/4 of my kids for long periods of time. Institutional schooling is not the ne plus ultra of intelligence or information, BELIEVE ME. Go ahead and call me a fan girl. With her talent and with all she learned as a teen from the music industry (good, bad, and how to make it), you cannot tell me that AnyCity High School would have provided any comparative education or road to success.

My son learned more about hard work, teamsmanship, struggle, overcoming adversity, and the drive for success in the sport he was homeschooled for, than he would have in any of the classes he didn’t attend at an institution. And it is proving quite true in his college studies and internships.

I also don’t care about her political views and would have preferred not to know them.

Very disappointing.

I like Taylor Swift.

She’s a nice person, she’s very pretty, and, with sheer determination, she developed a minor league musical talent into one of the most successful music careers in history.

I hope someone remembers to ask her what she plans to do with the tax cut President Trump and the GOP gave her.

And, I hope someone reminds her fans that she “lives” in Tennessee because it has no state income tax (recently, they started taxing dividends and interest).

That second pic is truly pretty

I love that part on slim girls where the waist and pelvis make thst V over the hips

I remember as a boy...

First time I beheld that glory and the velvet skin and little dew hair

Girls are really great....the subtleties

It’s the big hammers they weird that ruin it all

And take you to court

The snakes come out

Like Medusa

But they have their moments

“I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights.”

Terrible timing, huh? She jumped on a train that won’t slow down. Makes me think of Jethro Tull’s ‘Locamotive Breath’.

I would love to ask her:

What about molesting barnyard animals?

Should daddies marry their sons? What about NAMBLA? Should that remain legal?

I’ve lived in Pennsylvania, California, New Jersey, Delaware, Florida, and Texas. My favorite is that the south does reenactments of the Civil War. I really don’t get “hitting replay” on things you lost. Oh well...
