Never mind that the announcer (Ron Darling) himself is of half Chinese-Hawaiian ancestry.
Never mind that "chink in the armor" is common phrase that has nothing to do with ethnicity.
He must be burned at the liberal PC stake.
Chink in the armor is a very common phrase. I never even thought of it as a slur.
One must be niggardly with comments that can be misconstrued by idiots.
No apology is necessary Mr. Darling. It would be empty and nothing but a sacrifice at the altar of PC as there is no foul here.
Crazy article. Not that kind of chink.
ESPN fired someone for using the same phrase back in 2012.
Tanaka is a Jap not a Chink. Leftists are ridiculous.
“I’m using a spade in my garden.”
Oh! Nooooooooooooo!
The homeowners association is gonna throw me out!
I think the Red Sox would disagree that Tanaka lost control in the first.
Now just one cotton pickin minute. We need to stop monkeying around with the English language.
Don’t know what Darling was thinking...
He must have been out of his cotton pickin’ mind

These complainers are useful idiots.
I remember a few decades back, a black guy I knew at work was complaining about the term “blackball” (meaning innuendo meant to harm one’s chances). I figured he was just misinformed about the origin of the phrase.
Now I realize he was intentionally misinformed by those with an agenda.
If one detects racism in that comment it is racism in the listener’s mind. The outrage should be directed to the listener whose mind is so corrupt as to instantly seize on a racist interpretation of the word chink.
He’s a Yale graduate I believe - as well as one handsome ballplayer.
We are letting the Stupid rule us.
a narrow opening or crack, typically one that admits light.
There is not even a reference to the slang usage and its meaning.
In this case chink refers to a small dent, ding or flaw in the figurative armor. As a Japanese person I don’t find his use of that phrase offensive. Just more SJW searching for offense anywhere.
Per Wikipedia.....
The phrase “chink in one’s armor” has been used since the 15th century.[3] It adopted a more idiomatic meaning in the 17th century.[3]
Whomever considers this a slur here should be fired.
We need more Jim Brockmires in the booth.
In this usage, “chink” is as much a racial slur as “niggard”.
