Democrats just killed the blue wave
The Hill ^ | 10/06/18 09:30 AM EDT | HEATHER R. HIGGINS, OPINION CONTRIBUTOR

Democrats were cheered by the renewed FBI investigation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh and counted it as a win. Most Republicans were dismayed that the full Senate's vote on Judge Brett Kavanaugh's appointment to the Supreme Court was delayed and saw this as a political misstep.

They should change places.

First, while the politically attuned understand this is just a delay game by the left, who are on record as willing to do anything to derail this nominee and force the appointment to be made after the November election, swing voters and many women do not.

For them, there is no reason to not look further. The “why rush? It’s for a lifetime” argument resonates as do their own experiences. This past week countless of men have learned from many women just how prevalent the alleged behavior and how much worse it is. This includes those in my own family who hadn’t known I was a victim of sexual assault in high school and just after college when I was the victim of rape.

Independents, Millennials and many women want to know: Why hasn’t Mark Judge answered more questions? What do other classmates say? Is the GOP going to be fair to what they saw as sincere testimony by Dr. Ford?

President Trump is astute and understood ahead of any polling, that for these people, rushing a vote without more FBI vetting would leave Kavanaugh’s legitimacy perpetually undermined on the court.

And the people at SNL think this makes for a really funny skit:

“Democrats underestimate how completely terrifying this spectacle appears to ordinary people. Here is a man who volunteers in a homeless shelter and coaches girl’s basketball and has more female clerks than any other federal judge; and he is being destroyed on accusation alone. How could an ordinary person, without powerful friends, survive such an onslaught?

The same public watched #MeToo start with pretty clear cases against guys who were creeps. Now, some of the cases are much muddier. This new Kavanaugh standard the left wants to impose would mean any one could be named, his reputation and future destroyed and subjected to intense ridicule when he defends himself.”

Wish I could agree with you Extremist, but I can’t.
The LEFT/PROG/DEM/COMMUNIST/SOCIALIST/STALINIST party has been around longer than I have been alive, and they will be here long after I am gone.
They will let some time go by, let Conservatives go back to sleep, then spring it on you again.
Same DIRT SOUP, just a different flavor.
Some folks LUST FOR POWER is so strong they can never give it up.
Just as there has always been good, there will always be evil.

AND THESE PEOPLE ARE EVIL!

They used to fool everyone by pretending not to be who they really are but their increasingly radical base shuns even the pretense of moderation.

Now they will be true to themselves and offer people their real program and some people will buy it. Not everyone and for that reason alone America will never become Venezuela.

I bet there is more to it than preventing Trump from making any nomination at all. I bet some things are planned for the coming month and for the election itself whereby a friendly Court is needed or at least split decisions so that one or more planned Disrict Court decisions will stand because of that split.

“The Democrats may want to get a handle on their militant, dogmatic, SJW youngsters who are hellbent on taking over the party and turning it into the Khmer f**king Rouge.”

They can’t. And that is a beautiful thing.

It seems to me the loss of seats during the mid-terms for the party in power is due to recession or public disapproval over foreign policy. There isn’t a recession (just the opposite) in 2018 and I don’t see the public disapproving of Trump’s foreign policy.

The difference in 2018 will be whether the lamestream media has poisoned the minds of a sufficient number of voters with “Russia collusion” and other DNC talking points. A month out, it remains to be seen. I suspect there will be surpises as well as disappointments on both sides, but in the end, the GOP retains control of the House (albeit with a slimmer margin) and Senate (with probably 3-5 additional seats).

I certainly hope your right and I live to see the destruction of this evil ideology in our country.
Don’t have that many years left in me and I really would like to live them in peace, knowing the country I leave for my children will be a free nation governed by the CONSTITUTION and the BILL OF RIGHTS.
Government by mere men and women is to subject to corruption.

Racism.they will have Negroes claiming she called them niggers to their faces and other variations. If she attended an almost all white private school in primary school it will be portrayed as willful avoidance of Negroes.

As a result, the extra time not only didn’t hurt the GOP, it showed Americans which party was respectful and want to get things done for the right reasons rather than to score cheap political points.

Bizarre as it is to consider, calling for a 7th FBI investigation might just be the last good thing Jeff Flake ever does as a Senator.

Damn, I wanted someone to punch him in the face but now in retrospect, it was a winning move. I gotta give the guy credit, even if it wasn't part of his plan.
