If Murkowski had voted "no" it would have been 50 to 49 (rather than 50 to 48 with her "present" vote) and Kavanaugh would have won with a majority anyway.
After the election, McConnell has to dump her as chairperson of the Senate Energy Committee and thereby make her useless to the energy policy dependent Alaskan voters
You gotta watch 5 or 6 depressed fakenews feminists on CNN talking about how they are going to impeach Kavanaugh as soon as the “blue Wave” overtakes the House!

Are they? I think it’s just as likely they’re dispirited. They tried every vile, nasty, dirty trick they could think of to defeat Kavanaugh and they FAILED and their demo representatives from hell FAILED in stopping the nomination AND they made their entire party look bad. Maybe they won’t WANT to go to the ballot box and reward that. Maybe.

I can fault him for not living up to the oath he swore and the responsibilities of the job he was elected to do.
As a senator he has the responsibility to be there to represent the people who elected him and to also realize that since the election of senators came about he is a United States Senator, not a senator for Montana, or Nebraska, or any other state. He is obligated to the United States and the constitution.
He might have missed the daughter’s wedding. How many military members in battle zones, emergency responders, doctors, and others with this level of responsibility can say that a wedding is more important than responding to this threat or performing the emergency surgery that will save a life.
You take an oath of office; you fulfill and live up to that oath every single day you are in that office.
