Sen. Steve Daines will walk his daughter down the aisle in Montana on Saturday—but if needed, he will rush back to Washington on a fellow lawmaker's plane to vote for Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation.
Daines said Friday that his longtime family friend and colleague, Rep. Greg Gianforte, R-Mont., swooped in to “save the day” by offering his plane. Daines has said he will vote for Kavanaugh, but Saturday's planned floor vote conflicts with his daughter's wedding.
“My good friend and colleague, Greg, has come to save the day. If I need to be in two places at once to walk my daughter down the aisle on her wedding day and to be the final vote to put Judge Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court, he’s offered me use of his plane,” Daines said in a statement to Fox News Friday. “I appreciate his generosity as well as his dedication to family and country.”
Daines’ daughter, Annie, is getting married in Montana on Saturday. A spokesperson from Daines’ office told Fox News that Gianforte and his family will also attend the wedding.
"If Greg’s good friend, Steve Daines, can participate in his daughter’s wedding and ensure Judge Kavanaugh is confirmed to the Supreme Court, Greg is happy to help for the sake of family and country," a spokesman for Gianforte told Fox News Friday afternoon.

It's highly likely guests plans and the reception couldn't easily be changed, but so what? The actual ceremony could be timed around his being there.
Being US Senator means that the nation comes before family obligations. This extra drama isn't needed. It is symptomatic of how far the US Senate has sunk.
With a daughter’s wedding coming up one week from today - I can tell you any man that want’s to live to see another morning would never say to the wife and daughter “Postpone it.”

As a corporate pilot, I figure they don’t need his vote. The Logistics of this is tough. From the wedding chapel to the Senate bldg is close to 5 hours total travel time utilizing the fastest corporate jet. Then there’s the time zone issues. MT is 2 hours behind. If the wedding is 2pm in MT it’s already 4pm in DC. Plus, for something so important, you’d want 2 jets with crews ready and waiting incase one breaks. IOW, the deal is done and they don’t need him.

Then the vote will be left open and he will fly in...Murkowski wants to come across as “courteous and gracious” (because she knows if she votes “no” she will look like the turd she is) so I doubt she will do it and still have him confirmed - it would just make her look petty and vile and traitorous 9as she really is)..
Yep - she would look really bad and still not be able to stop Kavanaugh so I bet she follows through...unless Flake absconds....again, but Collins’ speech was superb and that would make him look like a transgender Snow-Flake...
He’s a US Senator. Wife and daughter need to grow the fsck up.
The bigger point is, the Dems pushed us to this date. If they can get any victory out of today, they will relish it. If Kavanaugh is confirmed, but they ruined a Senator's(R) daughter's wedding, they will look at it as punishment for what happened. As far as I'm concerned, the Secret Service should be at the wedding to help keep it on schedule and safe. Get him back to DC on the finest, fastest aircraft we can put him on. Take it out of the Dem's Congressional travel allowance.
There had better be an armed guard around that plane and a very reliable competent and trusted mechanic check that plan over before it takes off.
