She wants a bigger bribe. You don’t usually see a swamp creature just put it out there that blatantly obvious.

I wouldn’t count on her vote. She is a radical feminist with an (R) in front of her name. McConnell and the RNC can put pressure on her if they will. Removed from committees, no funds for re-election, guarantee a primary challenge and no support in the general. Further and this one hurts her the most, cut off the pork to Alaska. THIS is the one that would bring her to heel if they have the guts to use it.

The Cowski and Collins better tread carefully. If the election next month goes as predicted their power as the cry bag holdouts of the senate with outrageous demands for their votes are gone. They can be totally ignored.

The problem is that our side has to rely on unreliable people like this.

She has a bill for Alaska “natives Americans” coming up. Perhaps Sen. Mitchell explained to her the differential probabilities of passage based on either a “yes” or “no” vote. My understanding is that she can’t survive without this constituency.

Collins and Murkowski both love baby murder, its the reason why President Trump did NOT choose Amy Barrett to be the nominee..so those two were always going to be a problem

“Maybe Mitch explained some things to her and called in a chip??”

He explained to her that a NO vote means she will loose EVERY ONE of her committee assignments. That if she votes NO, she will learn exactly what the words “back bencher” mean for the rest of her term. The other nagging question I have is when she lost the Republican nomination and won as an “independent,” how does she end up being a Republican? I guess the GOPe needed her as “headcount” to retain control, because she sure doesn’t vote like a Republican.

I seem to recall reading that essentially Alaska is run by a few “families” and Murkowski is one.

That's exactly what Sarah Palin attempted to break up when she was elected Governor in '06, and was successful for a short while.

I think it’s highly unlikely that she’ll vote yes, but if Mitch can at least convince her to abstain from voting rather than voting ‘no’, Kavanaugh’s odds of being confirmed would increase a fair amount.

“If the election next month goes as predicted their power as the cry bag holdouts of the senate with outrageous demands for their votes are gone. They can be totally ignored.”

At this juncture, whether they vote YES or NO, they should be shunned from the Party if, as predicted, the R’s pick up three or four RAT seats. Payback needs to be a world-class bitch for both of them. Even that little dwarf a$$hole Corker got on board, and he, like Flake has $hit-canned his future and could really have disrupted things for the Republicans.

Exactly.

And - being a cynical, I would also say that it seems the razor-thin closeness of this morning's cloture vote, along with the protracted, dramatic weeks of excitement have been intentionally encouraged by BOTH sides of the aisle. Why - because it motivating their base to increase $$$ campaign contributions.

I was born in the morning, but it wasn't THIS morning. I gotta yawn at all this. Fool me twice - shame on me - that's my reaction. It's not called the "uni-party," for nothing.

McConnell should privately tell each one of these RINOS that there WILL be extreme party discipline exacted if they betray the GOP in the senate and vote against Kavanaugh.

He should also assure them that if they vote no, it will be the beginning of the end of their senate careers. Mitch should point out the example of Jeff Flake-—driven out of office in disgrace with a NINE PERCENT approval rating.

If these two RINO women think the same thing could never happen to them, they should go talk to Saint Jeffy about this. Do they want to destroy their senate careers over this one vote? This one vote? Is it worth it?
