McConnnell just slapped down Hirono’s guilty before innocent. Glad to finally see the GOP find their backbones.
McConnell has done well throughout this. I am not a fan of him generally but his speech yesterday was excellent.

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) promised Tuesday morning to oppose President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, “with everything I’ve got.”
Schumer said on CBS’s “This Morning” that Trump’s nomination of Kavanaugh is fulfilling two of Trump’s campaign promises, “to undo women’s reproductive freedom and to undo ACA,” referring to the Affordable Care Act, or ObamaCare.
I wish our heavyweights in the Senate weren’t all 112 years old (Grassley, Hatch, McConnell) - all of them sound like droning old men and they uniformly put me to sleep even though they’re on my side.
Chris Plante just said that FOX is reporting that Collins is a yes for confirmation. He was not 100% sure if that was merely on cloture, but was “pretty sure” is was for final confirmation.
Wish he'd mention Hirono's silence on Daniel Inouye.

If she does, we still need one more. I have more hope for Manchin, who doesn’t want to blow his re-election, than for either Flake, who appears to be a liar, or Murkowsky, who appears to be hateful.
Ch-Fi is in trouble back home with her lunatic fringe voter base. Let hope failure here is the nail in her poltical coffin. Anyone CA replaces her with will be far worse but they will be a JR Senator and have not nearly the poltical power the FSwine has.
