Does that mean they have 49 votes so far?

At least on Google, it takes about 6 hours. Somebody may have arranged a private flight for him to leave the second after his vote and fly straight to Montana to attend his daughter’s wedding.

Before the Democrats became the lunatic commie party, the Senate has a procedure called live pairing that allowed a mechanism to accommodate a member who was unable to attend a vote due to illness, travel, etc. A member from the opposite party who was expected to vote opposite to the absent member would become a live pair and would vote present thereby ensuring that the outcome was not affected by an absence.
Once upon a time when Senators were Gentlemen.

Awesome! Our household (myself and beloved) were both shocked to read earlier that Sen Daines wouldn’t be there to vote. Very glad to read otherwise. Whew!

When they vote tomorrow it is a trial vote? So when they vote again on Saturday can they change that vote?

No GOP Senator should leave D.C. until Kavanaugh is CONFIRMED. No one.

So happy he could make it! /s
I was supposed to be an usher at my sisters wedding but got deployed and couldn’t make it.
Plenty of service folks deployed who have to sacrifice significant family events. If it’s OK for them, then the same should apply for this senator.

So apparently they will leave the vote open so Daines can vote when he returns.
Gonna put a cot in a back room for Pence.
