Protesters had to remind Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., not to overlook Native Americans as she listed groups of people she claims lack power in politics.
"I am angry because of everyone who has lost power," Warren said at a Thursday demonstration against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in Washington, D.C.
Warren, a possible 2020 Democratic presidential contender, evoked African-Americans, Latinos, and members of the LGBTQ community as examples before some people in the crowd shouted out "Native Americans."

If everyone has “power,” who’s going to clean and cook and take care of children and old people?
ROTFL.
What the hell?
Since Obama made them a protected class, the queers can't get enough "power".
"Shut up and Bake Me A Cake!"
The Spirit of Lee Atwater arises!
She didnt forget. Shes trying to squelch the connection.
AI reservationists have all the power they wanted. Most are socialist dictatorships, where land is communal and no one AI owns land or even their own home. There is a controlling family and AIs can be voted in and out of a reservation tribe at will without compensation. This has been the basis of a few unsuccessful lawsuits in Calif where casino Indians vote out members to consolidate the wealth into a few families. For others, it is by their own choice they did not invite factories or industry onto the reservations. OTOH, there are other AIs who have shunned reservation mentality and chosen to participate with the western world outside of the reservation; they have done very, very well. They own homes and businesses and can afford to send their children to excellent schools. To claim that AIs have ‘no power’ in ‘the west’ is nonsensical because that is exactly how they insist on living - independent of ‘the west’, subsidies excepted.
My losses at the Indian casinos, small as they may have been, tend to disprove the claim that ‘they are a people without power’.
“The Spirit of Lee Atwater arises!”
LOL !
The bastard child of Lee Atwater and Alinsky.
What about the Amish? They never had power to begin with. (unless you count rumspringa)
No she did not forget Native Americans. She didnt mention them because they are less valuable political pawns. Low man on the totem pole so to speak.
Remember, we are all equally talented, equally good at testing, etc, etc, etc. God forbid we acknowledge that every race & ethnic/cultural group have people who are not going to be successful & will only be able to do menial jobs.
It’s a shame to not be honest because it justs sets up some people for student loans they can’t pay, a college degree that is useless & the false belief they can get a better job than their intelligence and skills allow.
I agree. Also, we ought to recognize that the trade, service, and caregiving jobs often have more value to society than many others that have credentials and prestige.
Every citizen who is legally registered to vote has the same political power that I have.
However if politicians prostitute themselves for money . . .
Just another "gimme" group.
They choose to live in their own little world. Something like the Amish....cept they have no work ethics.
When the trade guys who service everyone retire.....big trouble! It started before Obama, but he really pushed the whole everyone should go to college. I work in a rural southern school district & honestly, sad to say, there are quite a lot of kids from drug homes, no dads present, parents on the line of being mentally retarded and the kids raise themselves. I remember when there were like two kids in the whole school who had issues. Now the kids with good parenting are in the minority. Some of these kids are beyond messed before kindergarten.
And the crazy thing? People who have a trade make really good money.
Thanks for letting me vent & you are absolutely correct!
I agree with you. I live in the suburbs of Charlotte, in a place that is claimed to have good schools. (I’m a rock-ribbed homeschooler, myself.) Children are stressed out of their minds in first grade, but that doesn’t mean they can read by the time I run into them in Sunday School in 4th or 5th grade.
Skilled trades are dying for workers who have a pulse and can pass a drug test, and those are high-wage, union jobs. I have a son coming up (14) who is not an academic standout, and another who’s 9, and I will be strongly encouraging them toward a trade program. Plumber or electrician or HVAC tech is a good line of work, and it’s only going to get better as fewer people qualify.
What a great parent you are! My mom forced my brother to go to college & he was NOT college material. Dropped out after 2 years & really floated around before he got his act together. He is a commercial truck driver. You can’t force your kids to do college when it’s not for them.
Our electrician can’t even keep up with all the work he has. And several of my older students have great HVAC jobs. Your boys are headed to a successful life because of you!
Have a great night.
If I had any brats that had good hands on skills, I would push to the trades too.
No kids at all though.
I grew up just outside of Charlotte myself.
Wealthy school district, yes. The powers that be only cared about college prep. That meant about half the school population meant very little.
Only auto mechanics and ag. No jrotc or much else. I hated the place and the weak kneed administration.
Hope you have a good night, too.
