A GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $550,000 to support Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his family, in the wake of allegations of sexual assault being leveled against him.

John Hawkins, who owns conservative blog, Right Wing News, said he created the GoFundMe eight days ago because he was "disgusted" by Kavanaugh's treatment throughout his nomination....

...Hawkins went on to say that he that all of the money collected "will go to Brett Kavanaugh's family or alternately, if they refuse to accept it, to a charity of their choice." In a recent update to the crowdfunding page, Hawkins wrote that he has been in touch with a staffer for the judge who told him Kavanaugh's team is aware of the GoFundMe.

I'd like to see another one to fund a defamation suit by Kavanaugh against Ford, et al.

Using false cries of "rape" as a political weapon is something that just can't pass.

Top defense atty on Fox said BK has grounds for defamation lawsuit and should keep it on the table regardless if Scotus.

Gofundme now up to 571k. The conservative writer who started it posted he had been in touch with BK office and they appreciate the support. Had to stop public comments on the account because of ugly comments.

"$500K buys a lot of beer."

I like it! The Supreme Court always goes into session in October. Hence forth, it should be called Octoberfest!
A national keg party!)

I sent $100 and ask all Freepers to send what you can.

His family shouldn’t have to pay steep legal bills caused by DemonRat character assassination.

It's an extremely bad precedent if the left can impede any Republican appointment by finding someone to accuse him/her of something/ somewhere/at some time.

If 1.6% of people have Borderline Personality Disorder (F:M ratio 3:1) that's a huge supply of potential accusers. As a political strategy this needs to be nipped in the bud.

Lawyers won’t have to worry about the chin quiver on national TV during a civil trial, and all they need is the preponderance of the evidence.

Kavanaugh had to hire his own attorneys to defend against non govt related activities.

Conservatives need to be doing much more of this. Leftist help each other to avoid the consequences of their misbehavior, while conservatives always seem to fight their attackers alone.

A better use would be to donate it in Kavanaugh’s name to conservative candidates RAT infested districts.

I have two questions, 1. Is Judge Kavanaugh allowed to receive gifts like this since he is a federal judge and, 2. are the funds subject to federal, state, and city income taxes!
