Signs ripped up in anger. Chants of “we believe survivors.” Furious finger pointing.
A large group of students became enraged Tuesday afternoon by a pro-Brett Kavanaugh tabling effort at the University of Texas at Austin put together by its Young Conservatives of Texas chapter. A crowd of furious students encircled the group and yelled at its members while chanting obscenities and destroying their signs.
The conservative group had decided to set up a “Confirm Kavanaugh” display in an effort to show support for the embattled U.S. Supreme Court judge nominee and argue for the need for corroborating evidence, said student Anthony Dolcefino, vice chairman of the group.
They drew up signs stating phrases such as “#MeToo gone #TooFar,” “KavaNotGuilty” and “No Campus Kangaroo Courts in Congress.” They also put up a “Change My Mind” sign, a call to debate peers.
“We did want people to talk to us, but unfortunately it’s hard to do that when you have an angry mob ripping our signs and screaming in our faces,” Dolcefino told The College Fix in a telephone interview Tuesday.
The half-dozen or so conservative students who took part in the effort set up their display around 11 a.m. and got a few passersby and hecklers, but the crowd swelled around 12:15 p.m. when classes let out, he said. As the crowd grew the display was relocated to accommodate the throng.
“At the peak we had 150 people out there recording, screaming, rioting,” Dolcefino said. “The UTPD got involved, making sure people were not coming behind us.”
Numerous videos posted Tuesday show the large crowd flank the handful of pro-Kavanaugh students. Most of the questions coming at the conservative students were shouted in angry and accusatory tones, while the YCT students responded in calmer voices. Intermittently throughout the chaos chants of “fuck YCT,” “we believe survivors” and “YCT off UT” started up.
As opposed to lackadaisical finger pointing.

Where are charges for destruction of property, theft, and assault? As well, where is school suspending these students?
I watched this and wanted the republican kids to at least push her away and defend themselves but they didn’t. You know what they did, they let the democrat have her way. That’s just how republicans get beat all the time. They don’t stand up for themselves and protect what they have. What really needed to happen was for one of the republicans to grow a spine and put a foot up her fat ass! When democrats KNOW there will be consequences they’ll be a little more civil. We cannot back down from this crap, it only breeds more behavior like that.
This is all the Left knows -- scream and yell until they get their way and if that doesn't work scream and yell some more.
If Republican senators through their confirmation vote reward this behavior in the process of further damaging our western system of justice there will be considerably more violence by the Democrat/Left mobs in these next few weeks.
When they’re exposed to the truth, they try to erase it.
Survivors like Juanita Broaddrick? Paula Jones? Kathleen Willey? Those survivors?
Milo has pointed this out as well. The left has lost its ability to debate. They can’t reason and argue. They go to name calling and violence because they can’t think.
Brett Kavanaugh is the real “survivor” in this sordid episode.
I predict that before the election at least one leftist nut job will attack and cause serious harm or death to a Trump supporter, republican politician or staff.
These young people today do not realize what allows them to protest and march and complain about things they don’t understand...
They take for granted all the freedoms they have and believe that is the way it is everywhere...
They rail against the very people and ideas that gave them what they have...

Good job democrats. Protesting against people for not believing a woman's claims by... assaulting women.
This just confirms my idea that students want to go to university to learn... to learn how to be the elitist prigs. Why else would you spend God awful amounts of money? You go to the university to learn the mannerisms, the lingo, cut of the jib, all the tell tale signs that place you in the ranks of the “ELITE.” It’s certainly not to the learn about “The Transgender Perspective On Urban Lesbian Poetry,” unless that furthers your career and elitist ambitions. It’s quite simple really.
Peaceful coexistence with these people is not possible.
We need to stop pretending that it is.

It’s just so easy to trigger these snowflakes. If I were still on campus as a student, I might just make up some triggering signs and record reactions for pure entertainment value... maybe create a series called, “SNOWFLAKES GONE WILD!”
A few years ago, those ripping up Kavanaugh signs were waving around giant sex toys for “Cocks not Glocks”.
Just keepin’ Austin weird. UT is the Berkeley of the south.

Nearly 20 years ago, I had the misfortune of being force to attend an event at UT resulting in having to walk through what’s basically the common. Middle Easterners were lined up with tents and tables and were shaking their fists and yelling at passerbys. They were intimidating everyone and getting in their faces. Quite scary. Apparently, their behavior was university approved.
