The only thing wrong with Brian Banks, a powerful film that had its world premiere at the LA Film Festival, is the moment at which it appears. For this movie about a young woman who makes a false charge of sexual assault against a teenage classmate is not exactly primed to win an appreciative audience at a time when men (including a Supreme Court nominee) are vehemently denying charges of sexual misconduct. The opposite of a #MeToo movie, Brian Banks is definitely swimming against the current.

The media always seemed incredulous that a woman would make stuff up, but if they just did a little bit of research, they would find many cases of it. Even prominent cases. Duke Lacrosse; the Rolling Stone story; the Columbia mattress girl.

It's not even hard to find false accusations.

The IRS & Social Security Administration KNOW that there are over 2 MILLION SS numbers being used by persons OTHER than the correct holder of that number.

Both agencies REFUSE to inform the correct holder of the number so they can get it cleared up.

Talked to an old friend Sun night. HER SS number got used by a local company. She has NO idea how they got the number. It took her over 3 years to get SOME of it straightened out. She still cannot get part of it cleared on her credit report. She finally found out what company used her number on a W-2 for one of their employees & she confronted that company. She got NOWHERE .

Apparently she caught it when she was checking her credit reports.
