WASHINGTON — A Yale classmate of Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh’s accused him on Sunday of a “blatant mischaracterization” of his drinking while in college, saying that he often saw Judge Kavanaugh “staggering from alcohol consumption.”
The classmate, Chad Ludington, who said he frequently socialized with Judge Kavanaugh as a student, said in a statement that the judge had been untruthful in testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee when he had denied any possibility that he had ever blacked out from drinking.
Mr. Ludington said that Judge Kavanaugh had played down “the degree and frequency” of his drinking, and that the judge had often become “belligerent and aggressive” while intoxicated.
“It is truth that is at stake, and I believe that the ability to speak the truth, even when it does not reflect well upon oneself, is a paramount quality we seek in our nation’s most powerful judges,” Mr. Ludington said, adding that he planned to “take my information to the F.B.I.”

Is this the freshman year roomate who Kavanaugh indicated had a personal grudge against him? He mentioned it in a response on Thursday, apparently referencing a closed session discussion.
Well, if this is the new standard about 99% of Congress will have to resign.
As a side issue to the Kavanaugh circus, I have wondered why:
Why is it, that we are going back to high school and college to dig up dirt on someone?
Does drinking in college disqualify someone from being on the Supreme Court decades later? Why is any of this even being discussed?
Did anyone ask about the drinking and partying of Elena Kagan or Sotomayor? Or any previous Supreme Court nominee???
Is this going to be a new permanent low bar, that we can and should go back to high school in evaulating someone chosen for high positions? Is this a new norm?
Or do we just go back to high school for conservatives/Republicans????? What are the new liberal rules they appear to be imposing on the process?
If the loonie liberals think they are going to get Kavanaugh for perjury over this, they are idiots. Kav said that he liked beer and maybe drank a few too many at times. So where is the perjury??
Staggering and blacking out are two very different things.
Some people don’t lose consciousness from excessive drinking. They can be so intoxicated that they have virtually no motor skills left, but they do not black out.

Kavanaugh already said he drank, plus there is no name of this "mutual friend." It was at Yale, he'd have been over 18, where's the arrest record? Does the media fact-check ANYTHING before printing it?
40 years ago I drink like a fish, could polish off a couple of cases in a night, easily.

I was drunk to the point of sickness several times in college, and never once did I “black out” or forget anything I did while I was drunk.
