Kanye West delivered a speech about President Trump and other political topics to the "Saturday Night Live" audience in the room following one of his performances early Sunday evening.
After he performed "Ghost Town" at the end of the 44th season premiere for "SNL," West, who wore a red "Make America Great Again" hat, said he was bullied backstage due to his choice of head-ware.
"They bullied me backstage. They said, 'don't go out there with that hat on. They bullied me backstage. They bullied me! And then they say I'm in a sunken place," he said. "You want to see the sunken place? Okay, I'ma listen to ya'll now -- or I'ma put my Superman cape on, cuz this means you can't tell me what to do. Follow your heart and stop following your mind. That's how we're controlled. That's how we're programmed. If you want the world to move forward, try love."
Turning to the people gathered behind him on stage, West said, "Thank ya'll for giving me this platform. I know some of ya'll don't agree, but ya'll be going at that man ... and I don't think it's actually that helpful. I think the universe has balance. Ninety percent of news are liberal."
He continued: "90 percent of TV, L.A., New York, writers, rappers, musicians. So it's easy to make it seem like it's so one-sided."
West's comments came at the end of the show, which has become a mainstay of jokes critical of Trump and his administration. Earlier in the evening, the episode began with a cold open that focused on last week's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. The skit largely mocked Kavanaugh and the GOP senators who were present at the hearing.
Even after NBC cut the feed, West continued to address the audience in the studio in New York City.
Comedian Chris Rock captured some of the speech, which he shared on Instagram.
“I wanna cry right now, black man in America, supposed to keep what you feel in side right now," he said, singing again while standing in front of fellow rapper Kid Cudi, "SNL" cast members, and others on the stage.
He then spoke about Democrats and welfare.
“The blacks want always Democrats...," he said, adding later: "You know it’s like the plan they did, to take the fathers out the home and promote welfare. Does anybody know about that? That’s a Democratic plan.”
He also dismissed talk of Trump being racist.
“There’s so many times I talk to, like, a white person about this and they say, ‘How could you like Trump? He’s racist.’ Well, uh, if I was concerned about racism I would’ve moved out of America a long time ago," he said.
Other parts of the Instagram Story included members of the audience booing West, and near the end showed him talking about the need for a "dialogue, and not a diatribe" in order to make change.
West has been a vocal defender of Trump, telling all his haters earlier this year that they can’t make him not love the man even if he doesn’t agree with everything Trump does.
His wife, Kim Kardashian West, has worked with Trump and the White House to address the topic of prison reform.
The president granted clemency to 63-year-old Alice Johnson in June after Kardashian met with Trump in the Oval Office. Earlier this month, she visited the White House to push for the release of Chris Young, a 30-year-old serving a life sentence for a drug conspiracy.
Even if they destroy his rep on a future date, the cat is out of the bag, and there’s plenty of room to swing it.

I never know if it’s overkill with the phrase. “Communist” because they want to foist that ideology on us (so long as they don’t have to live it as elites, why they’re rank hypocrites to begin with), “Totalitarian” because they brook no dissent, “Fascist” because they’ll use whatever violent means (Soros stormtroopers, et al) to enforce their twisted and evil agenda.

Theoretically, a leftist could survive in this forum so long as he never slanders the right or antagonizes. Admin Moderator openly reserves the right to be partizan, but that is just leeway IMHO.

Well, it’s explicitly stated the ideology of the forum, being right of center and some libertarian (at least with respect to the size of gov’t). We’re not misrepresenting ourselves.
With respect to the media-entertainment industrial complex, the label they choose to apply to themselves, falsely and audaciously, is one of “fairness” or “tolerance” or “inclusive” (with other phrases such as “progressive”, which any student of history knows that was the label of the openly pro-Soviet party from the late 1940s. Even the earlier incarnation of the 1910s/20s was far-left).
Although many frequently label them “liberal”, that also is a falsehood. “Liberal” was hijacked by the left to make their totalitarian Socialist-to-Communist ideology seem palatable. Classic liberal is simply termed “Conservative” now. It really needs to be taken back.
I think it was Norman Thomas who stated that if the Socialist Party (really Communist) didn’t get the credit, he’d be fine and dandy with another party (Dem) co-opting the agenda and implementing it.
Don’t let up, Kanye. You have the power to own and speak of what you believe. Do not let the bullies win. They are not God. They might return hatred for the love and tolerance you offer, but don’t worry. We pray for you and Kim and your beautiful family. I see you becoming very significant in this fight against tyranny. DO NOT CAVE!
Until we can give up the opportunity to have a laugh, SNL will spew their garbage all over us. Just draw a line. Stop watching them as they assist the demise of the US.

I’m glad that He’s on “Our side” and that He’s willing to stand up to the demonratcommies but did He think they were gonna like anybody believing in President Trump and/or MAGA ?

SNL is like CNN, subsidized to maintain the message regardless of the audience. I watched President Trump’s rally speech in WV. He is like a one man SNL (old school, that is) when he mocks the Democrats.
He walked around New York city all day yesterday wearing that hat which is like wearing a Jewish star in Germany 1939. He helped out this homeless guy he met on the street
Kanye — truth is that you will never be ‘in’ with them again. They are your enemies now. If they make nice, don’t trust them. Media included.

You can trust Hannity for interviews. Or Savage. Or Levin. Or Beck. Especially Rush — I don’t recall him ever being nothing but a gracious host if you can get it lined up. You will find a huge growth in audience if you talk with them — just pick up a phone and talk from home to their radio audiences.
