The motion to refer the nomination to the Senate was voted on and passed. That was it. I think the Committee cannot send a conditional referral. So history will reflect that K got a positive referral from the committee, which is a good thing.

I certainly hope the investigation includes looking into the background and motivations of Ford. One of these 2 people is an innocent victim of the other, and that other person is a sociopathic predator. Given the inconsistences of Ford’s story, the lack of witnesses, her odd affect, and her political leanings, I think Ford is the criminal here. These are not 2 well-meaning, fair minded, moral people here. Only one of them is.
And Grassley knowing that the Two Hour Rule prevented them from continuing after 2:00 and immediately adjourning before the Rats could utter another word was key. Say what you want about Grassley, but he outfoxed them on this vote.
Indeed, indeed. McConnell and Grassley have been around a long time. They receive lots of criticism and not enough thanks. McConnell knows how to whip the vote and get all 51 in line. He controls the committee assignments. Many of these same democrats voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh for the DC Circuit Court and the whole Senate knows it.
Flake sent the conditional referral.
If McConnell needs the Flake vote, his conditions must be met. A limited one week FBI investigation must be conducted

McConnell should provide Flake with an executive summary of the FBI findings, if any. The agreement did not call for additional hearings or commitments from the Senate... Once received by Flake, VOTE!

As pissed off as I am at Jeff Flake, ultimately the FBI investigation he asked for will vindicate Kavanaugh, cast further doubt on his accusers, and will be used in his future defense when liberals scream to impeach Judge Kavanugh, as they’ve already started to do.
At least one besides me noticed this ploy.
We had a lot of crybabies complaining about delaying the vote to 1:30.
