The following letter from Montgomery County Chief of Police, J. Thomas Manger and State’s Attorney John McCarthy was sent to Democratic Caucus Chair Delegate Ariana B. Kelly, in response to the Montgomery County House Delegation’s request to open a criminal investigation involving sexual assault allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

While the statute of limitations has expired, it doesn’t mean an investigation to determine the truthfulness of such allegations wouldn’t be conducted. It means that they can’t bring up charges.

Yep. Even if there is a valid claim, and there is not, it is 35 years too late.
True, there wouldn’t be any investigation into the actual allegations, but the person making the claims could be subject to prosecution if it was found out they made false claims.

So, once again, the Democrats are misstating the applicable laws for political gain.
Any such offense would be barred by the statute of limitations in effect during the early 1980s. Yet, we have been repeatedly told that Maryland does not have a statute of limitations as to sex crimes. That may be the case now, but it would not apply to Blasey-Ford’s allegations.
Local law enforcement has no complaint to proceed on. The FBI supplemental probe is unlikely to produce results other than to create further delays. What we will see and hear are more attempts to pillory Kavanaugh and more unsubstantiated smears, coupled with calls for further delays.

Attempted Sexual Assault is not a Federal Crime, it is in the purview of the state. The FBI technically has no jurisdiction in the matter.
If this keeps up the rape card will be as valuable as the race card.
