In almost forty years of broadcasting and writing, Ive spent a lot of time tracking the fates of the Republican and Democrat parties. In recent years, the main conservative thirsts have been for a more muscular and unapologetic conservatism and for the bright light of truth to be directed onto the darkest habits of modern leftists.
The election of Donald Trump has propelled us down a road featuring satisfying helpings of both. But on one stunning day, September 27, 2018, there arose Republican resolve like nothing in recent memory. The accompanying reputational suicide of several key Democrats tied a bow around a historic day for clarity.
The occasion was the totally unnecessary session of testimony by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his main accuser of sexual misbehavior, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. The occasion was needless because Dr. Fords story in no way rises to the level of credibility to dislodge the nomination.
No decent society smears people for life based on high school misbehavior, so even if the wholly unsupported story were true, there would have been a strong argument against its relevancy today.
As such, the rhythm became: five minutes of Ms. Mitchell poking through questions of fact and memory, interrupted by five minutes of Democrat grandstanding. Then five more minutes of Ms. Mitchell seeming to inch closer to a salient point, only to be buzzered by the need to recognize the next round of Democrat fawning and prattling.
..snip..
But as soon as Judge Kavanaugh completed his opening statement, it became clear what the afternoon matinee would contain: Republicans showing more spine than they have in years, accompanied by Democrats making total asses of themselves.

I thought Mitchell was great. Without saying it, she proved Ford was a liar.
Ford lied about her fear of flying, as being the reason why the hearing had to be postponed for so many days. Turns out she flies more than the average person and flew to the hearing. She lied about not knowing that the Republicans said they would come to California to interview her. She lied about the therapists notes. She lied about the polygraph, said it lasted so long when there were only two questions. Said she did not know if she was being recorded. She lied about who was at the house where the purported groping happened. All the people named say they were not there.
Mitchell also honed in on the fact that Ford could not have walked to this house, got Ford to admit she was driven. Mitchell brought that fact out and now people are wondering, why wasn’t the person who drove the car named? It was not someone at the party. Ford says she left everyone at the party there. So someone dropped her off at the house and then someone picked her up. Why would she not remember who? Wouldn’t they be great witnesses? That she did not name who drove her there and drove her home lends credence to the fact that she made the whole thing up. She is lying.
Ford was truthful, however, about one thing. Her motivation for coming forward now vs 36 or 20 or 10 or 1 year ago. Ford said that she came forward now because Kavanaugh was about to be confirmed to the Supreme Court. This attempted lynching was politically motivated. Ford needs to be held legally accountable for what she has done to Brett Kavanaugh and his family.
Hahaha! Sometimes I think Ann is just playing with Conservatives: She’ll say a couple things to annoy or disappoint us, and then turn around and knock out a couple of right-on-target zingers.
I still hear people saying Ford was very credible. She cannot remember where it was, when it was, how she got there, how she got back, who drove her there, who drove her back, and who paid for her lie detector test. All of the witnesses deny it happened. She claims to be unable to fly, but she flies long distances often. But she is very credible?
As soon as I heard her talking like a child I knew it was staged. This 50 something year old has a PhD. She would rip your head off if you disagreed with her on anything.
So Brett Kavanaugh isn’t any of the
highlights you mention? Our next
appointment to SCOUTUS should be
someone who has the same fortitude,
love of country, and constitution,
as the honorable Brett Kavanaugh.
How is this? How do they control the press, which was instrumental in the development of this clown show?
I agree with the tactic of attacking the demon-crats instead of Ford. I believe that we have to keep that up by criticizing every liberal we know.
Oh, today is going to be fun.
I am frankly surprised. Lindsey out-Gowdied Gowdy....
Fineswine and her cabal are responsible for this. Ford was just a willing participant. I really don't understand why they allowed her to testify since there were no witnesses or any evidence of assault. I guess they were hoping she would generate the needed crocodile tears for TV.
Don't rest on that. Remember the zer0 had Scalia whacked and so far has gotten away with it...
Ford had a credibility to the ‘Rat base.
She was able to do this because she experienced the bedroom scene she outlined. She didn’t have to lie about lying on a bed while some guy tried to steal second base in or about 1982.
She was able to describe it, even fill in more detail, because she was actually reliving the event.
But her undoing was replacing the real actors with made up ones. She replaced (X/Y/Z) with (PJ/Judge/Kav). Threw in Leland for good measure. To place a buffer between her made-up names and reality, she (or coaches made her) insist she “can’t recall” getting there and leaving.
All of this done to get Trump, get Kav, keep abortion... all the things that motivates rabid leftards.
If the ‘Rats actually tried to put up a story that didn’t happen whatsoever, they’d not find any human willing nor able to just lie about everything. THey simply found someone that had plausible means to interact with a young Kav, made the details vague, and that had experienced some sexual impropriety and then tailored to suit the attack on Kav.
After all the things and undermining he's done??? Consider whether you might be too easily impressed.
In my comment earlier, I referred to the “next” nominee. That would be the man nominated after Judge Kavanaugh’s appointment. Judge Kavanaugh was already nominated. :-)
And with his record of decisions and originalism, Judge Kavanaugh was the best choice by far.
“The next nominee must be a judge who has a long record of decisions on constitutional freedoms and protections and must not be chosen based on one issue alone or issues that are not hotly contested in politics today.”
And we’ve had fun fun fun since Daddy took the T-bird away...
Republicans won’t have a snowballs chance in h3ll if they don’t swear him in before midterms. After all the only reason to vote for any left of center republican was the promise it would change the Supreme Court.
Toldja.
It’s still His, but we get to watch and help.
“He hath called me ‘dog’. Now look him to my teeth” is an attitude to be expected of a litigant Shylocke looking for his pound of flesh. If Kavanaugh uses the bench for payback, he’s no Justice. I trust he will do no such thing.
They left that meeting thinking that they won something.
They only win if we don’t vote.
