Mitchell has a long history of investigating years-old sex crimes and allegations that are difficult to corroborate.

As a prosecuter it sounds as if she is always an advocate for the so-called victim and has a built-in bias against the accused. There are many cases on record where an over zealous prosecuter has resulted in conviction of innocent defendants. The infamous case of the Duke lacrosse players is one example. While trying to be fair for Blasey Ford, with this selection the Republicans may have tipped the scale in favor of her and against Kavenaugh.

I hope she hasn’t bought a plane ticket yet. She won’t be needed.

She has also headed the Major Crimes Bureau, where she supervised sex crimes, family violence, and repeat-offender cases.

I'd guess Mitchell knows a real sex crime when she sees one. People like this interview real brutalized victims with real physical injuries as well as mental trauma and many of which have way better memories than Ford.

Pin the scrag down about the story that she was so traumatized all those years ago that she can’t fly. Expose that as myth and use that to bust her deceitful door in

She will be fine. The optics are very good having a prosecutor rather than a defense attorney doing the questioning. Incidentally, the Duke lacrosse players were never even tried, much less convicted.

Yes, one would think of a defense attorney against those she accused as the more appropriate choice here.

I was assigned to a unit that investigated these cases and worked closely with the local DA’s office during the investigations. When you first go to a unit like this, you believe every “victim”, but like anything else you soon learn that things aren’t always as they seem. Then you learn that some of the “victims”, if not a very significant percentage of them are lying or are being coached to achieve a certain outcome or support an agenda. In some cases, the “victims” act alone because they want to try and get rid of the mothers boyfriend, get rid of the stepdad, or get some kid in trouble because he won’t talk to her anymore.

Either way, it really doesn’t take long to find out if someone is lying.

Where does all of that lead to, many times(if not most) you’re not only trying to find out what happened and ALSO what DIDN’T happen. These units are overwhelmed with cases. And when it’s a legitimate case, it needs the resources and dedication it deserves. Those REAL cases don’t need to be short changed by a lie. Therefore, bringing in this prosecutor could be their way of letting them know that Kavanaugh’s side doesn’t just have a loudmouth liberal legal team, but someone with real life experience. Also, unless it’s just a big show, take note of how much Ford’s team is complaining about the prosecutor. Ford, et al, weren’t expecting this kind of push back, even though we all wish they’d push back some more.

may be what they were going for to show they are being accomodating to Ford, and those senators wanting to hear her.

Let’s hope home base politics do not affect her work at this hearing. Having worked for Maricopa County for 26 yrs means she is more than likely a conservative. But... Maricopa County is now about as Blue liberal as you can get, especially the Sheriff.

Fine, as long as she isn’t bought into the victimhood sisterhood.

Committee hired a sex crime prosecutor to question Kavanuagh (defendant) and Plaintiff (Ford) the job of a prosecutor is to win the case for the plaintiff and prove the defendant guilty. Wonder who will get the tough questions in this deal? Why don’t the Repub just let Ford question herself

Folks, Im from AZ and we know Rachel Mitchell. This is probably the best pick anywhere in this country, in fact this may draw her away from dealing with some of the sexual assault cases constantly in front of her office. If you are looking for someone to ask questions like this is a political lynching she is not the one, if you want the best person to question and reveal the facts she is the woman. She has been doing this for decades and her record is unblemished. Plus, shes one heck of a percussionist! Decades at the North Phoenix Baptist Church and now at Scottsdale Bible.

Rest easy folks, she will ask the right questions and get to the truth. No secret agendas with Rachel.
