The Senate Judiciary Committee has scheduled a Friday morning vote on Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court, according to a committee notice.
The vote on Kavanaugh is slated to come just one day after he is scheduled to testify in front of the panel on allegations of sexual misconduct.
One of the two women who has come forward to accuse Kavanaugh of misconduct, Christine Blasey Ford, is also scheduled to testify on Thursday.
“As a procedural matter, the Judiciary Committee today noticed a potential executive business meeting for Friday, September 28 at 9:30 a.m,” Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley's (R-Iowa) office said in the notice.
“Committee rules normally require executive business meetings to be noticed three days in advance, so an executive business meeting is being noticed tonight in the event that a majority of the members are prepared to hold one on Friday,” they added.
The vote was initially set for Monday but postponed after committee staff and lawyers for Ford got a deal on a public hearing.

I wonder how Mitch moved the girls to yes, assuming he did. I would have held them responsible for massive R losses in November, and for the end of the republic. And Kavanaugh doesn’t fit the rapist profile. Quite the opposite.

Many worried Grassley was being played - I think he read them and played them...fed them the rope they needed to sabotage themselves and remove all doubts about their lack of credibility and integrity.

I read on FR yesterday that Turtle told the senators to stay in town Saturday. The reason being they want him confirmed prior to the beginning of the new term of the Supreme Court. I think it is because they want a full court at the beginning.

I read somewhere the Senate was notified of a potential confirmation vote by the entire Senate this weekend.
I’ve wondered if the next stunt will be for Dems to not show and deny a quorum. That was popular among Dem state legislatures for awhile.
What charges can be brought against Ford if it turns out she never did have to travel from he West Coast?
What if she was in the DC area all along, as some have stated?
Can she be charged to ‘procedural delays’ or anything else?
Someone has to pay for this behavior, and I also want DiFi to face charges over that ‘letter’ that has different FONTS.
I am happy to get this over with. My only concern is Murkowski can not vote “NO” and say the vote was rushed before hearing from Ford.
I believe Murkowski will be working to get Ford there on Thursday but I don’t know if she can do it. I agree Ford does NOT want to testify, but Collins and Murkowski seem willing to move heaven and earth to get her there.
And I am not sure if they can cajole her tomorrow.
