Senate Republican leaders want to schedule a floor vote for Monday or Tuesday on the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court unless something derailed it along the way, according to Senate Republican Conference Chairman John Thune of South Dakota.
Thune told reporters at the Capitol on Tuesday that if all goes according to plan, Republicans could get the procedural gears turning over the weekend. That assumes Thursdays hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee featuring Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused him of sexual assault, does not alter the current trajectory that Senate GOP leaders have set.
Sweet Jesus. The thing is a fiasco. Get it over with so we can figure out the score on who is murdering whom back in the ME or Chicago.
It does seem to me that since we have Republican senators who cannot be counted on to vote with their fellow senators on any given issue, that there might be a solution, or an earned reaction, by the Republican leadership. Treat these party straddlers as the democrats treat their recalcitrant congressional members. Find out where they are most vulnerable and confront them with alternatives. Are these RINOS bought by interests that will be hurt if Republican leaders disrupt the money flow or any number of other concerns? There is a way to bring them around or force them to go where their political and financial interests lie. Run as the democrat candidate on the far leftist democrat party platform and stop impeding the TRUMP administration. Democrats do not tolerate deviation from their party and will destroy their own members without any hesitation for stepping out of line. Republicans are weakened by their toleration of the subversion by their own party members who have used the GOP label to grab a senate or Congressional seat for self gain or worse. The worse being a uniparty, open borders, replacement of this American Republic with a dictatorship, socialist, communist form of government.
Yup. They must vote now.
Sounds all well and good about confronting them with alternatives. However, Flake and Corker are leaving the Senate with huge chips on their shoulder towards Trump. Collins has always been unreliable and unphased by GOP pressure which leaves us with Murkowski who has remained mum throughout. She met for 45 minutes with McConnell today so the fact he is holding a vote on Friday looks promising (said with fingers crossed).
Werent we told a million times that the Mueller probe was in its final hours? LOL
It’s almost like the republiturds want to give these socialists enough time to defeat him?? wtf is wrong with them?
And we continue to pray.
Trump got elected despite the left’s best efforts.
We can see this again.
Thanks.
Kavanaugh is no stranger to the SC environment, having worked for the US Solicitor General (the person who argues cases in the USSC on behalf of the Administration) and clerking for USSC Justice Kennedy, and working in behalf of Chief Justice Roberts. The DC Circuit Court where he serves preps many USSC cases. He’s been in training for the USSC for years.
